PART B: Actual Essay on My Career Goal
Since I am about to graduate from high school, I have been brainstorming about my future academic endeavors. I am looking forwards to joining a reputable college to pursue my dream career: to be a competent professional in the field of oil and gas. I have realized that several key factors such as training, qualification, targets, and anticipations define this career path that I look forward to pursuing as outlined in this essay.
While reviewing the best college to undertake my college degree in oil and gas, I realized that the school of Energy in San Juan college offers a variety of specializations in this area. The college has a rich history of academic excellence in terms of graduate programs and certifications for professionals in this field. I am considering a specialization in industrial maintenance mechanics, where learners are trained to become maintenance mechanics in power generation, refinery, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical processing units (San Juan College n.p).
I have a preference for this career because I have been inspired by my dad. He has accumulated about two decades of high-level professional expertise. Through this career, he has managed to make significant investments to support the financial needs of our family. My dad has used this position to positively influence positive work ethics and to inspire young professionals in this specialization. I want to pursue this profession because I desire to walk in my father's footsteps and achieve even more than what he has accomplished.
Analysts have pointed out that a career in different oil and gas specializations is a suitable choice to settle at when seeking what to pursue after high school (Edology n.p). The energy sector has registered significant growth over the years due to rising consumption and increased innovations (Bozick et al. 1). Such a trend also comes with the demand for professional and experienced personnel. Additionally, a career in oil and gas is among the competitive and lucrative options to pursue (Jowett n.p; Miller 19). In this case, I am convinced that this career is among the favorable option being pursued by a significant number of people.
Based on the analysis of a graduate program in oil and gas in Mexico, I am looking forward to spending between $1,000 and $2000 per year as my cumulative cost in college. Additionally, I need to attain grades that meet the required qualifications. Since San Juan College has a specific capped admission capacity for each program, I will ensure that I submit my application in time. I will also need to prepare for the entry tests immediately my applications are accepted.
It is important to highlight that through this program while in college, I am expecting to learn mechanical maintenance skills and practices that could be applied in power generation and natural gas production. Other areas that I believe I will multidimensional training include refinery and petrochemical dynamics. Water treatment and pharmaceutical processes are part of the knowledge that I intend to gain. After graduating from college, I am expecting to get a starting salary of $700 per month, which should increase to a minimum of $1000 after two years of probation.
In conclusion, after completing high school, I am expecting to join San Juan College to pursue a career in oil and gas. My preferred specialization is an industrial maintenance mechanic. This program will ensure that I establish competent and qualified professionals in oil and gas just like my father. Furthermore, I have estimated that I will spend between $1,000 and $2000 per year as my cumulative cost and $1000 as salary after two years of probation.
