Reading through the work of Kilroy second edition of Threats to Home Security I agree with all hazards perspective because this perspective does not major on the threat of homeland security based on one area but consists of how the homeland can be protected, what is protected and what it is protected from (Kilroy, 2007). Similarly, through the use of this perspective, various threats to homeland security are identified such as growth of the nexus among crime even provision of a broader context for assessment of risks of homeland security from this perspective such as the inclusion of natural disaster and terrorism.
The main hazard facing the United States of America is physical and terrorist attacks. These are where terrorists use weapons a crude as trucks to carry out their attacks especially those who have served their allotted time in prison when they are released they are a more significant challenge to our security (Bosher, 2008). Bible verse that can be used when people are faced with hazards is in the book of Psalms 46: 1-2 which says God is our refuge and strength, he is ever-present helper in times of trouble .hence we shall not fear even if the earth gives away and into the heart of the sea the mountains fall (Craigie, & Tate, 2018). This bible verse is encouragement in times of danger, and the victims are asked not to fear because it is always present to help in time of any trouble.
Quandary 2 From Ramsay and Kiltz readings
The earthquake that occurred in Haiti in January 2010 resulted in loss of lives and properties also destruction of buildings and infrastructure of Haitians .through this explosion and the earthquake there are various lessons that can be learned from them such as the decisions to be made by security managers have become difficult because there has been an increment in recurring terrorist attacks ( Ramsay, & Kiltz, 2014).secondly, the people need to be prepared for ant time of attack since before this earthquake and explosion the management had been prepared for terrorist attacks thus calling for assessment of threat management.
Thirdly, the other lesson is of the importance of the definition of what is useful in the system already in the facility for the identified threats. The fourth best practice is the identification and understanding of the four phases of comprehensive emergency management, which include mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Lastly, disaster should be prepared in wholesome since there are different categories which are a threat to homeland security, which include natural, technological, and social disaster.
