INTRODUCTION
Attention material: With the increasing consumption trends and diminishing fuel reserves, there may only be about 20 years before there is an international economic crisis as a result of oil shortage.
Thesis Statement: Countries should take action and promote a greater use of wind energy so that the world can be prepared when fossil fuels are not as abundant as they seem today.
Preview: There is a need to look at the rapid population growth, increasing energy consumption, and diminishing fossil fuels which are the main sources of energy today.
BODY
I. Meeting the world’s future energy needs.
A. Wind energy has the potential of meeting more than 20% of the world’s energy needs.
B. Wind is free and inexhaustible.
C. Relation to the thesis.
II. Long term benefits of wind energy outweigh the short-term costs.
A. Wind energy requires large initial capital investments, but the cost becomes almost identical to conventional sources during energy conversion.
B. Wind energy is inexhaustible hence prevent the international economic crisis that may result from overdependence on fossil fuels.
C. Relation to the thesis.
III. Wind energy is clean.
A. Wind energy does not produce greenhouse emissions.
B. Relation to the thesis.
CONCLUSION
Summary statement: Wind energy has a lot of potential to meet the energy needs of the world, it has long term benefits both ecologically and economically, and it is clean. It can easily become a major source of energy for future generations.
Concluding remarks: The population of the world is increasing rapidly every day. As a result, there has been increased fuel consumption and rapid depletion of fuels which are the major sources of energy in the world today. With the market forces of demand and supply, the current situation may result in an international economic crisis in few years to come. We must invest in renewable energy both for our benefit and for future generations.
