In this manner, the state governments are responsible of laying down their legal procedures that govern the control of air pollution and ensure its implementation. For instance, laws have been set regarding the cost analysis models and tools that ensure assessment of the emission reductions.
It is also worth noting that the states have stipulated the requirements of setting up industrial areas. For instance, it is a requirement that the industries should not be located close to residential areas as it will be detrimental to the health of the people around. In this manner it ensures that the emissions are only restricted to the areas around the industries.
The US governments have also created awareness on the hazardous effects of the emissions and the need to reduce them immediately. As mentioned earlier, the state governments are responsible for coming up with the control measures that are approved by the state and eventually implemented. This has to a large extent regulated the amount of emissions that reach that atmosphere which has in turn reduced the number of health effects associated with the emissions.
