Impending threats may also force use of military force. Such threats include; the country is the verge of being invaded, when the countrys citizens are about to be slaughtered and the any option is use of military action.

President Obama seeks permission from the United States Congress to use military force to stop use of chemical weapons. The president has made the right step by seeking authorization from The Congressmen since this issue has raised a major concern concerning this delicate matter that could result in huge consequences though it limited in size and time.(nytimes.com)

The president if given the go ahead sign, must explain in detail with his top aides how using military force in Syria will force the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, to top using dangerous chemical weapons on innocent civilians rather than provoking him to do greater damages.

American intelligence claims more than 1,400 civilians have been killed by deadly chemical weapons used by President Assad military.

The president and his top aides must also explain to the congressmen how this mission will not mire the country in Syrian civil war and how this military expedition will solve political instability in Syria which is the only solution to end the war.

Why the use military force is justified

Use of military force is justified when impending threat has been reported. When the countrys border are about to be invaded, the military have the power use military action to counter the threat. When the citizens of the country are about to butchered or kidnapped, the armed forces can use military action to rescue its citizens.

Use of military force is justified when a smaller country which is less powerful is about to be invaded or attack by a country larger in size or wealthier and more powerful.

When the countrys allies are under threat of being attacked and could affect country directly or indirectly. If U.S.A has many of its citizens in one of its country allies and the specific country is under threat, the U.S. military has the right to protect and defend its citizens by using military force if necessary to rescue its citizens

Why use military force is not justified

Use of nuclear weaponry during military has adverse effects on both human and plant life. It has radioactive effects which result in death of human beings, animals and crops. It also leads to long term effects such a permanent evacuation from affected regions e.g. in Nagasaki, nuclear bombs caused abnormal life forms and total destruction of property.

Frequent movement of military personnel from their families can cause stress to their families. The other partners feel lonely and sadness, feeling overwhelmed and worries and panic.

Military force causes decline in economic growth globally. Military activities in a country causes panic therefore free trading activities are halted therefore resulting in slow economic growth. Tourism sector faces a greater challenge as tourists leave or cancels their trips for fear of their lives.

Military force therefore is not the best option in trying to protect the interest of the state or its citizens. Military action leads to loss of life and other methods of resolving the affected parties. Other methods like arbitration or use of international courts can be used.

I stand against the use of military force. Firstly, military force as discussed earlier is the use of deadly weapons hence a case of human rights violation. Effects of use of military force almost resemble partial effects of war. It results in;

Human casualties are reported. Soldiers and innocent civilians are always the most affected. Lives are lost during fighting. Use of modern weapons results in more death tolls.

Military force results in economic downfall of the affected countries. Countries that are responsible could face sanctions that could adversely affect their economic ambition. Imports and exports fall sharply since the region is no longer favorably for business. Tourism sector becomes affected as tourists fear for their lives hence cant visit your country. Prices of sustaining commodities like food stuffs surge to rocket high prices. (Poppert, 2003).

Use of destructive weapons during military force results in destruction of property. Examples are the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki where nuclear bombs were used. Most of the cities buildings and structures were brought to ashes. In Syria, most cities have been destroyed.

Families face stress during military force. Worries and panic affect the family. One of the military partners feels overwhelmed and lonely. The children are affected with sounds of guns and explosives which can affect their growth and trauma.(Davidson, 2001).

Secondly, there are various methods of solving disputed. These methods are peaceful and have little or no negative effects. Examples are; arbitration, litigation, meditation and negotiations. Arbitration involves where an impartial person is selected to help in solving a dispute for example between warring countries. Litigation is the use of courts to try and resolve issues. Countries disputing about boundaries can use courts to solve their disputes. Meditation is a voluntary method in a mediator who is a neutral person helps to promote reconciliation.(Reinisch, 2008)

Imposing international sanctions are actions taken by countries to against one another for preferably political reasons. Countries such as Iran and Russia have been sanctioned for failing to abide by international laws.

However, some of the way of conflict resolutions has failed to work. Warring parties must agree fully to the agreed condition to avoid military force imposed on them. Arbitration has failed in countries like South Sudan. Sanctions imposed have failed too and the only option remaining is the use of military force.

Examples of leaders who have used force to gain power.

President Yoweri Museveni became the Ugandan president through coup in 1986 from Tito Okello

Prime Minister Hun Sen became Cambodian head of state through coup in August 1997 from Norodom Ranaddih

Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama of Fiji became the prime minister through coup in December 2006 Lausanne Qasare.
