A hero in a film is an imaginary character who, in the event of risks and threats, uses clever deeds, and innovation to confront the enemy in favor of other people. This paper analyses the heroic acts in the Star Wars film, which was released in 1977, and how the heroic actions happened on the journey of Luke Skywalker, Hano Solo, and Obi-wan Kenobi tried to flee Princess Leia from the clutches of the Galactic Empire (Glut, 2011).
In this movie, Death Star commands orders for the destruction of Leia's home planet when she is in captivity—using Death Star Super lasers as a show of power. Obi-Wan destabilization of the tractor beam when they had captured the world’s remains is an act of heroism in this movie (Glut, 2011). Luke found out that Leia was imprisoned in the Death Star waiting to be executed; Luke, together with his friends Han and Chewbacca, freed her in a swashbuckling series of escapes.
Obi-Wan had to sacrifice himself in a fight with Darth Vander so as to facilitate Han, Luke, and Chewbacca to board the falcon. However, as they left the Hangar, they were caught by four Imperial TIE Starfighters, but they resisted; however, the enemy followed them up to their hidden base in Yavin (Glut, 2011). In this film also an act of heroism is witnessed when Vander led his troops of fighters who were heavily prepared to attack Leia's campsite. Still, unfortunately, Hano returned, and attacked the imperial fighters, transferring Vander spiraling into space (Glut, 2011).
As the enemy imperials kept approaching to rebels' base, Luke Turned off his targeting computer and turned force by guiding torpedoes to the exhaust port. Where the Death Starship exploded before they were able to fire Luke's base. The explosion of this ship killed Tarkin and all other imperial troops onboard. Another heroic act in this movie is when rebel spies led by Leia spies and obtain a schematic Galaxy empire Death star, capable of destroying the world. Still, Leia's starship is discovered by start destroyer (Kahn, 2011). Leia's act of hiding their plan from R2-D2, an astromech droid, and Protocol Droid, C-P3O is heroism because the four robots fled to the planet. R2-D2 robot goes to play Leia's message to Obi-wan so that he can take the message to Leia's father, for them to retaliate and save the world from being destroyed by Galaxian death ships (Kahn, 2011).
When Luke returned home and found that his aunt and uncle had been killed by Stormtroopers searching for the four droids that fled, leaving him with no, choice, he accepted Obi-wan's request to travel (Kahn, 2011). They moved to Cantina, where they hired Han solo to transport them, but on their way, they were intercepted by a bounty huntsman, whom Han owed money. They confronted each other, and Han ended up killing Greedo. Han helps his friends flee from this scene to evade being caught by Jabba the Hutt, which is an act of heroism.
Conclusion
In conclusion, every film cast has instances where actors show acts of heroism by doing something extraordinary to save other people (Kahn, 2011). In this movie where Hano, Leia, Luke, and Obi-Wan sacrifice themselves by fighting to prevent their planet from being destroyed by the Galaxian Empire, which wanted to show their superpower. Heroism in movies is brought by the experience the actors have had and how deeply they understand the present work.
