Introduction
The organization development is a procedure adopted by a business enabling it to build its capacity to change and ensure that it is optimally utilizing the available resources. Some of the primary goals that are expected to be realized through the application of the organization development process include raising the profitability levels, widening the market share, improving cultural and moral values, and making sure that a business is adapting to the prevailing situation in the marketplace. When an organization is experiencing problems ranging from declining economic performance, reduced client base, and reduced morale on the part of workers, it is essential to revert to organization development as part of ensuring that these problems are resolved. Marriot is one of the hospitality organizations based in Mexico that is experiencing these issues.
The economy of a country may not be at its best, and this leads to the companies in that market encountering growth problems. Additionally, a volatile climate may drive away clients, and there is a need for a business to find ways of attracting clients even when the market is not stable (Howlett, 2020). Additionally, the critical issue that a firm should observe is to ensure that the workforce is happy and motivated to work for the business. These are the measures that the Marriot Company should observe when it is operating in the Mexican market. It must adopt the organization development measures that will present it with a high probability of remaining competitive. If it is discovered that the existing organizational culture is not working effectively, the management should initiate the right changes, and this may involve changing the existing conditions. The employees are one of the primary stakeholders that are involved in a business, and they must be included in the decision-making process. They have a significant role to play in the development and growth of a company.
When working on the organization's development process, the main issues to consider are the measures that can be adopted to help in resolving the crisis that the organization is experiencing. There is a need to let everyone affected by the change know about the impending activities that the business wants to take. Having clear communication channels will help create healthy working relationships among the stakeholders, and the proposed changes will work out smoothly. The other activities that will be worked out with a consultant will be providing training to the various personnel that will be involved in the working process (Marchalina et al., 2020). The proposed cultural changes should be aligned with the processes and strategies of the firm that cover hiring, employee compensation, performance management, and talent promotion.

The various stakeholders in Marriot Company should ensure that they are taking responsibility for their actions, and this is a move that ensures that everyone is working with a common interest, which is business growth. Whenever there are problems in a given department, the officers in that section should ensure that they are finding solutions for the common good of the entire firm. Part of changing the organization’s culture demands the existence of visible proponents. For the business culture change to stick and ensure that the desired outcomes are realized, the top management officers must prioritize. They are required to guide the subordinates and show them the strategies that they should adopt.
The team should highlight the impact that the change is likely to have on the entire firm in the short and long run. Even though there is a need to initiate a culture change for the Marriot Company, there is a possibility that there are some issues that the management may want to retain from the existing cultural values and beliefs. Therefore, defining the non-negotiable is essential, for this is a move that will ensure an easier transition to the newly adopted mechanisms. Marriott has created a brand in the market and ensuring that the adopted changes are working with the existing model instituted by the entity will ensure that there is a better connection between the market and the workforce.
Customer experience plays a significant role in the decline or growth of a business, and there is a great need to ensure that customers are happy and satisfied with the quality of service that they are getting. Having an employee survey will provide details on the gaps that exist between actual and desired behaviors. Making changes should not be rushed, and a considerable length of time should be given for the process to be effective. The right investment should be initiated towards the changes, and the management should step up the i9nataieve to ensure that the others follow their lead.
Engaging Employees
Employees are the main stakeholders that are involved in the organizational processes. Therefore, they must be involved when undertaking an organizational culture change, for they are the ones who will be required to implement the highlighted changes. The employees’ engagement may take various forms that may include enabling them to be part of the decision-making team that will initiate future changes. Additionally, seeking their advice is also critical for this will help in the implementation of changes that the workers are happy to undertake. The employees’ engagement focuses on the way that workers feel about their business culture and the jobs that they are undertaking (Stajkovic et al., 2019). When the organizational values and beliefs are strong, the workers will have a better understanding of what they are supposed to do, the expectations that the business has on them, and the objectives that they are supposed to meet.
Engaged staff members are highly likely to remain happy, committed to the wider course, and motivated to continue working for the firm. Therefore, Marriot Company should initiate measures that will ensure that the engagement process is working towards the realization of positive outcomes, and this will lead the employees to have a positive approach towards work and remain creative towards solving the various issues affecting the business. Some of the procedures that can be undertaken in initiating the engagement process include ensuring that there is transparency in the workplace. It is a move that will help encourage creativity, break barriers at the workplace, and raise collaboration levels at the workplace (Elsbach & Stigliani, 2018). The workers will feel empowered due to the transparency move, and this should be incorporated into the process of focusing on employee behavior. It is not possible for a business to achieve high ratings and improved results if it is not focussing on the worker's behaviors.
The employees should be included in portraying positive attitudes towards all the other stakeholders involved with Marriot Company, for this is the move that will create a good reputation in the market and raise the productivity and profitability levels. Employee development and empowerment should be initiated by the Marriot firm, and this calls for the need to ensure that they are offered additional training when it is necessary. The world is dynamic, and when there are changes in the market, the organization will be compelled to alter its operations (Galvin, 2019). The move may demand that the employees be given additional training to ensure that they can manage to handle the issues happening in the industry. Offering the workers an opportunity to express their troubles while they are serving the organization will present the management with a chance to improve their working experience at the facility.

The issue of organizational culture, the employees’ management, and the desire to raise the productivity of business are highlighted in various biblical teachings. Philippians 4: 13 states that "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (King James Bible, 1769/n.d., Philippians 4: 13). Dedication and hard work are some of the critical measures undertaken in a firm to guarantee success, but the path is not always clear as expected. The bible verses seek to guide human beings and support their efforts, even when things are tough.
In the case of Marriot Company, it is encountering a decline in productivity levels due to the poorly performing economy, reduced customer base, and reduced morale among the workers. However, if the management decides to take the right measures and work hard towards making sure that the business is following the right organizational culture, the company, and its employees will manage to undertake all the activities that they desire. God wants human beings to thrive in all the activities that they are doing, and people must ensure that they are following the right guidelines to achieve significant success. Colossians 3:23 states “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (King James Bible, 1769/n.d., Colossians 3:23). The message is directed to the employees of a company, and they are called to serve the Marriot Company in the right way. Therefore, the employees are recruited to offer their best when they are serving the organization.
When worker's morale is down, they have to find ways of improving it, for this is what will guarantee that they are optimally offering the desired service to a company. The workers should understand that when they are working, they are not undertaking activities to please their seniors but rather, they are implementing the duties assigned to them.
