There are different types of conflicts in any environment. For example, a conflict can be caused by cultural differences, poor communication, and unlimited resources in a working place. According to Karl Marx, the rise of conflict in a society is led by a higher competition of the available resources (Brutti & Montolio, 2019). Also, the conflict theory states that social order is highly maintained by power. Thus, there is a perception that individuals with power, as well as, wealth use them to harass the poor and powerless. Therefore, this task will review how environmental factors may determine a person's mindset, i.e., an individual who chooses to engage in criminal activities or behaviors.

For many years, people have always asked this question about crime, "Why crime exists?" There are a number of theories that have attempted to respond to this question, but one to have a piece of clear evidence. These two theories show that the social environment is one of the factors which influence a person towards committing a crime. Also, they show that biological factors can lead to criminal behavior due to genetic hereditary.

According to Classical and Rogerian arguments, these two particular theories bring the best concept as to why social and biological factors determine the behavior of a person. Also, the combination of these two factors forms a mindset to a person, and he or she can choose whether or not to engage himself or herself into criminal behavior. To understand how a person can be influenced by environmental factors can be shown as follows;

Social Environment

The physical surroundings, different cultures, as well as social relationships, highly define how people interact or function in an environment. This combination also influences the behavior of the children in terms of values, morals, as well as beliefs at an early age. Thus, from these morals, beliefs, and values usually form a system which helps these individuals in decision making in their life.

According to some studies, almost 61 percent of the residents living in the cities, social factors typically influence a person either directly or sometimes indirectly towards crime or violence (Blinkhorn, Lyons & Almond, 2019). For example, in most of the Urban societies in the world, the rate of crime, as well as violent, express a serious threat to young children, as they may start having criminal behavior at an early stage. Thus, a person's lifestyle contributes some individuals to criminal behaviors.

Biological Factor

According to some studies, genes of a person may affect who a person's brains usually function. For example, it may either increase or even decrease the chances of how a person may learn behavior patterns (Brutti & Montolio, 2019). There are many questions about how criminal behavior is connected to genetics. Some of the researchers have shown it clearly that this can be possible, as genetics usually play significant roles in a person's behavior. During the conception and development of a child, genetics highly plays a role, and there is a possibility that it may lead to illegal behaviors (Nedelec & Silver, 2019). In some cases, the genes are turned on by social, physical, and cultural factors. For example, if a child is born in a violent family, there is a high possibility that the child may always have issues when expressing their emotions. According to some studies, they have shown that biological and genetic traits can be passed from one generation to another through hereditary means (Blinkhorn, Lyons & Almond, 2019). For example, there are possibilities that a kid born by people who are addicts of drug substance may also become an addict later in his or her life. Simply because they can be carrying the genetic genes of addictive personality, and one the life exposes them in certain situations, they can start criminal thinking of behaviors (Oberai, Jain, Khosla, Arora & Dewan, 2017).

Other Factors

From my perspective, there are other factors that influence people toward criminal behaviors. However, most of these factors are highly linked to the social environment. Some of them are; domestic violence, child abuse, and emotional harm. According to some researches, these factors highly impacts childhood abuse as well as neglects of violent behavior of some people who normally become serial killers (Smith, 2017). Also, from these researchers, they show that adults who were physically, emotionally, or sexually abused when they were children can be more violent as compared to those non-abused adults.

Poor development traits may also affect the behavior of a child. Most of its effects can be identified during the adolescent stage when one is shifting to adulthood. Some of the signs that an individual has been affected by this factor are; destruction of properties, aggression symptoms, and violation rules in the workplace or at home. For example, one may be very violent to his or her partner, to the coworkers in the working environment, and sometimes to the children (Blinkhorn, Lyons & Almond, 2019).

Criminal behavior or traits may lead to a complicated lifestyle. Simply because these traits, as well as the behaviors, highly contribute to a very poor decision-making process in someone's life. However, this factor does not only exist in a social environment, but they may also be connected to biological factors.

Although crime may be led by different factors, and more and more researchers are still trying to what is the root cause of criminal behavior, I can state that; biological, social factors as well as other factors like abuse and violence, they highly contribute a person to different criminal activities. Crimes occur due to different reasons, and most of them are led by social learning form the surrounding environment (Smith, 2017). Thus, this one of the contributing factors that cause people to develop criminal behaviors. Even if most of the researchers, as well as their projects, are showing that social skills are the main factor which leads to criminal mind, the fact remains that environment is the key of criminal behaviors.

The social environment is a very important factor to consider when raising a child. For example, in case a person raises his or her child in a positive belief system, with proper morals as well as good values, the child cannot think of criminal activities. However, the social factor is not the only factor that contributes towards the criminal mind as this same child may be carrying or have biological genes of criminal behavior. Thus, even if he or she has grown up in a responsible social environment, the genetic traits my lead her or him to criminal activities. We can conclude by saying a combination of different factors usually contributes individuals to criminal behaviors.

Differences between individuals in an environment cause conflict issues. Conflicts can lead to serious impacts on someone's life or even in society. For example, criminal behavior or activities may lead to conflicts in a community. Thus, it is important for people to understand the effects of engaging in criminal activities as it can even cause death.

Conclusion

To sum up, environmental factors are highly connected to criminal activities. For example, a person may develop criminal behavior as a result of the environment he or she has been raised in. For instance, a child who has been raised in a violent family may develop the criminal mind as compared to those who have been raised in a morally family. Also, a kid who has been raised in violating slams where people keep on fighting as well as killing the others, he or she might develop the criminal killing mind.

Although environmental factors are viewed as the main influencer of the criminal mind, biological factors also contribute to this issue. Simply because genetic traits are hereditary, as are passed from one generation to the other. Thus, a criminal mind may be shifted to the lineage of a family. Also, they are other factors that may lead to criminal behavior in a person's life.
