The Delta was located near the Mediterranean Sea, and it was divided by River Nile into small branches, thus creating a marshy land known as the Delta. The fertile land was a narrow piece of land that was used for farming (Wilkinson 352). The land was fruitful because of the silt deposits from the receding floodwaters in the region.
