In this scholarly piece of work, Carter and Zaykowski investigate how building bridges link the old heads for a coherent community policing. The authors further investigate how crime, drugs, warfare, and violence have continued to drain the stability of different neighborhoods and state resources. Adversely, the research shows that deploying traditional enforcement techniques and police agencies alone cannot be used to turn this tide. The authors also address the cause of the hiccup and encourage the participation of the community in ensuring that the available resources are used amicably.
The authors further argue that the unique forms that are present in the social upheaval have caused the law enforcement body to realize that being reactive is not an essential approach to stem crime and thus remains as an inability to clear civil disorder. Therefore, a new plan is necessary. Similarly, the work illustrates that new roles of the citizens in controlling victimization and avoiding crime is a fundamental approach required for the police departments to change their methods of restoring peace and justice. However, the article reveals that the police department must turn from their traditional experimentation to a new approach that is inclusive of the full-scale implementation of the new problem-solving approach for a better future.
