Redefining Hydration
OPPORTUNITY RECOGNITION & BUSINESS STRUCTURE
1.1 Business Opportunity
I am looking to sell bottled water in refillable cans that will also be able to refill themselves. It is all about convenience in the whole package. My idea is based on the creation of water bottles that have filters at the bottom. This is a simple concept that will allow a person to either fill water in the bottle or end up with cold water, but the unique thing about this idea is that if by any chance a person runs out of water, then it can refill itself.
My business idea is aimed at making the lives of people better and helping as many people as possible access cool and clean water at the appropriate time. A large number of people carry or buy bottles of water these days when they leave their homes. People actually spend a lot of money in buying bottled water and at the same time carry water bottles, but when they run out of water they have to wait until they reach home, or have to buy another bottle of water.
What my business idea will do is to reduce the amount of money that people use to buy water, and come in handy when an individual runs out of water. Existing services only specializes in specific brands, thus locking out either of the markets.
1.2 Type of Business
My business idea belongs to the bottled water industry. The main project will be manufacture of refilling water bottles. Water is a vital factor in sanitation and health. The interrelation between these factors cannot be underestimated. In wealthy communities, the relationship is taken for granted, but in poorer developing communities, the reality is grim. Water is related to health in several ways. Firstly, it is important for hydration, which is responsible for well-being. Secondly, water is useful in maintaining hygienic standards. Thirdly, consumption of water is linked to several waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, typhoid, viral hepatitis A, and dysentery. Lastly, water that contains excessive chemicals acts as a contaminant. In developing countries, it is a stark reality. However, in developed countries, it is less grim. The troubles associated with water demand and consumption inspired the idea of a self-refilling and cooling water bottle system.
1.3 Type of Business Ownership
Adams Ale Bottlers will be a limited liability company. The LLC is advantageous since it would shield the owners from the risks the business is exposed to. The tax paying is more convenient to handle since the members file tax returns on their personal tax returns. A limited liability company incorporates the best features of a corporation and a partnership. This is the main reason I choose a limited liability company. The advantages include the members are not liable for business debts. The profits and losses also drift to the owners directly. Moreover, the running of the company is more flexible without unnecessary red tape. The only disadvantage is a limited liability company is a challenge to set up compared to sole proprietorship or a partnership.
Adams Ale Bottlers will be better run as a limited liability company since to begin with; the risks faced in the industry are too much for a sole proprietor with limited financial backing to handle. Consequently, running Adams Ale Bottlers as a limited liability company will cushion the owners from risks associated with the business. Secondly, the company needs to outsource for start-up capital. Outsourcing start-up capital as a limited liability company is easier than as a partnership or as a sole proprietor. Moreover, the advantage of a limited liability company is better potential for management due to pooling of ideas.
