In training the clinical eye and mind, a total of 38-year-old three students are asked to participate in group training where they were provided with clinical photographs and also paper cases. This is for group one. The second group, they are provided with art plus dance. The students are required to make a clear observation of the arts and give out their findings from both groups after six months. The students from both conditions find the value from the received training, where they reported that observation skills seemed to be better compared to pattern recognition.
The conclusion here is simple, the intervention studies remained complementary and hence can bring about better teaching in clinical medicine. This is through helping see a complete picture of the patient (Gurwin, Binenbaum, 2018 et.al). The second article consists of twenty-four clinical students who are also given different training and required to experiment.
They are provided with the arts and also physical diagnosis topics and also an elective life drawing session. After the study, they conclude that the methodology of observation from the arts may be more straightforward for every student as they can make observations from the patient by the use of the diagrams, which represents their bodies.
Both articles have stated that the use of art may be more comfortable in understanding the patient’s body. The first student is given the art of a patient’s body while others are given the body itself to make an observation, those with the art give a different observation from those who have the physical body.
It also justifies that the study of art for the human body may be more straightforward as well as quick. The articles have used a different methodology to come up with a conclusion. In the second article, the students are receiving a “visual literacy.” It is done by teaching the students to structured observations of artwork (Shapiro, Beck, 2006 et.al). They are also required to understand the fine art concept and later apply these skills to patient care. Therefore, both articles hold that through studying the arts, it may be easier for one to understand the patient clearly.
From the study that has included two specific groups, one can understand the reality that is required to be skillful in handling patients. For example, what can you do to understand your patient fully? It may be simple for some people to get an understanding of their patients by studying the arts.
On the other hand, some will not be able to get an understanding of the art. From the study, everyone is obliged to understand which way I best for him or her to observe the patients. To improve the learning experience, trying all the ways to your patient, both eye observation and also the study by the use of art is supposed to be implied to all learning students. Besides, the use of art may be more straightforward as justified by the articles. The study of art may also be more straightforward compared to any other method of study.
