As a manager in the organization, how do you create a safe and secure environment for employees?
All employees are under a signed contract, and they are encouraged to have legal representation in case an issue occurs.
How do you develop personal growth opportunities for the employees?
Personal growth opportunities are developed by encouraging employees to plan, be resilient, develop a growth mindset, and learn from their failures and past mistakes (Uvhagen et al., 2018).
What are the strategies that you use for maintaining staff at the organization?
Maintaining staff begins with recruitment, selecting, hiring, training, and orienting employees (Greden, 2017). I work with human resource management to ensure that the best candidates are chosen and then efficiently trained before working. On-the-job training is also done to increase employee morale and to make them more productive.
What are some of the procedures that you use to accomplish departmental objectives?
Departmental objectives are met primarily by managing staff and planning and evaluating corporate activities. Managing staff entails ensuring that there is teamwork in the various departments, encouraging opinions, and ideas from other people, leading by example, and publicly rewarding hard work to increase employee motivation and satisfaction (Greden, 2017).
What are the essential skills that you possess that made you earn the position of a manager?
I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills, forward planning and strategic thinking, organizational awareness, and good time management (Babelan et al., 2016). All these qualities made me be selected for the managerial position.
The manager’s answers to all the questions were valuable, and I have learned a lot about being an effective leader. The answers aligned with my expectations, and I was impressed. I am still interested in becoming a manager, and I believe that I have what it takes and even work for the same organization if an opportunity arises. The additional skills obtained from the course that may be useful in my career include time management and strategic thinking.
