Introduction
The birth control method requires some level of understanding of how to use or apply it. The cervix cap needs the woman to keep on checking if it in place before having sex. One of the common questions that the woman needs to answer is if she is affected by the hormonal birth control method. The second question is if she can apply or check the position of the cervical cap.
The Methods and Why it Benefit the Family
The effectiveness of the method is always the number one fact which many people need to note. According to Weber, the failure rate of the cervical cap is 14 percent. The percentage decreases to 29 percent to the women who have given vaginal birth (Weber, 2017). It can benefit the family if used it right. It is good to check the small holes and the other damage.
The Pros and Cons of Cervical Cap Method
The advantage of the cervical cap is it is possible to insert before intimacy. It is recommended for 6 hours before (Weber, 2017). The replacement should happen after one year. The other good thing is it does not have any hormonal side effects. The cost is small for the process, even to some extent it can happen at home. The process is discouraged for several reasons. First, it is not an effective form of birth control (Mayo Clinic, 2020). Secondly, it does not protect STIs, although not all birth control methods can expect condoms (Johnson, 2019). Thirdly, it is easy to use incorrectly and can be pushed during sexual intercourse. In some cases, it irritates either partner and not useful during menstruation.
The Contraindications of the Cervical Cap Method
The method has some risks associate with it. The burning urination is one of the conditions which the woman might experience. There is some pain when the cervical cap is not in place. Blood inside the cap is the other challenge of using the method. Also, swelling and itchiness are other issues (Johnson, 2019). The method does not require the woman to take any form of diet or even to avoid any.
How to use the Cervical Cap
The women need to be super careful with the methods because if not inserted in the right manner, it can be ineffective. The effectiveness of the cervical cap depends on how careful the woman is in the process.
Response to Student
Birth control methods can help prevent pregnancies. The cost, the level of effectiveness, and side effects are three facts to consider. Women prefer the procedure, which will not affect them negatively. There are some of the reasons which would make it prudent to recommend this cervical cap method. The cost is the number one thing; it is very cheap. It means that people can afford the procedure and that the cervical cap needs to be changed once a year (Mayo Clinic, 2020). It means that it is cost-effective. It is a useful birth control method that couples can try because neither is disadvantaged. The procedure does not involve hormones, and it prevents many side effects which other birth control methods have.
The cervical cap is inserted directly into the cervix of a woman. It is not painful, and the woman can do at home. The process is simple, and the woman needs to wash her hand and insert the cervical cap with done down. Then, push back into the vagina and feel with her fingers if it has covered the cervical area correctly. The incredible thing is that the process does not require any cuts, and it easy to get it done at home. The process of removing is easy, as well. Its primary challenge is that it cannot prevent the STIs, and it the same case with all the other birth control methods.
The cervical cap suits the woman because it can be removed and inserted from time to time. Especially when not having sex for a long time or when one is on period. The advantage of these procedures overrides the disadvantages. Therefore, every woman should use it as long as they can meet the precaution measure of the birth control method. The level of effectiveness is good for the cost. Every product offered in the market needs to match the cost. The fact that the effectiveness of the procedure is more than 85% it means that the family can use the method of family planning (Johnson, 2019). To add another layer of protection, the use of the spermicide help kill the sperm, increasing the effectiveness of the method.
