The poem creatively identifies with the previous poem in that it has embraced and illustrated the thematic concern of love as the poem fully narrates a relationship that is seemingly coming to an end because of a bad habit of alcoholism. Love is the binding ideal in any relationship, and this is evident in this case, as the poet suggests leaving the relationship. The thematic concern of love is the main theme of the poem, and the poet has introduced and delved into the matter pretty well. "He will be sorry he never tried to stop me," this is a phrase from the poem that clearly illustrates the presence of an ongoing love relationship between the poet and the "he" as pointed out in the poem.

The other thematic concern, as demonstrated in the poem, is of alcoholism as it is the reason the poet points out to be leaving her relationship. "I told him that it would be the end of us" this is a direct quote from the poem that demonstrates how the poet has earlier warned of his habit of drinking, and this evidently points out to the reason the relationship is ending. Looking at these two thematic elements of the poem and how precise the poem has been written helps clearly bring out the essence and importance of the poem in general. The poem is all creatively crafted in a way to make the themes in the poem more relative and more connecting to the reader in all ways. It the above discussion and understanding of the thematic concerns as used in the poem that brings to light a better view of the ideas and the story behind the poem in general. Alcoholism and love come in as the main thematic concerns that try to paint the ideal state of the poet and her story.

The major stylistic device that has been greatly employed in the poem is the use of adnomination, which is a poetic feature that uses texts with the same root word or rather the echoing of a sound in general to another in a sentence. The poet has effectively used this stylistic feature to highlight the empathetic punning and is mostly applied to demonstrate a kind of rhetorical operation. It is a style of art that has creatively been used to draw attention in an ironic manner. In the poem, two lines have used the word "done" as an illustration to put great emphasis on the aspect of her been done and tired with the relationship she had been, this aspect of adnomination in the poem demonstrated or puts a great emphasis on the fact that she is no more putting up with the situation in the relationship and thus desires to leave and go.

The third and fourth line uses the word "leaving" as an emphasis on the poet not taking any more step in the relationship as she feels fed up and thus leaving the relationship (Yarkho, Boris, 156) the poet has creatively and ironically capitalized on this style of adnomination in putting great emphasis on her great need to leave the relationship. The second stanza in the poem also greatly focuses on the poets' significant other in the relationship, and this well places great emphasis on the other party in the relationship, and this helps the readers to have a view and understanding of the other party. The understanding and presentation of this stylistic feature in the poem have greatly helped the reader to have a deeper understanding of what the poet is putting across. Adnomination puts great emphasis and is well demonstrated in the poem.

The other stylistic device that has been used in the poem is the antithesis. Antithesis is used in putting emphasis on the contrast between two things that are related. In the poem, whiskey in terms of alcoholism and the end of the relationship has been effectively linked together to bring out the whole general idea and story behind the poem. The use of these two elements puts emphasis on the poem because they help deliver to the reader the thematic concerns of the poem as intended by the poet. Whiskey, in this case, highlights the theme of alcoholism, which is ideally the reason why the poet feels like she wants to leave the poem indefinitely and that nothing can be done to salvage the situation.

On the other hand, the "end of us' is a phrase used to brings the understanding that the relationship has come to an end, and love is no more between the poet and her significant other (Stepanova, and Autleva, 164). The application of these two phrases and the stylistic feature of antithesis greatly puts across the situation and the general storyline behind the poem. Emphasis on such phrases or things, as demonstrated in the poem helps define meaning and present to the readers the ideal situation in the poem. Antithesis places great emphasis on the general understanding of the poem and the story behind it; these are the presentations that have been used by the poet to fully address the issue at stake and give the readers the chance to also see through the poet's nature of the situation.
