What are your strengths?
What sets me apart from other candidates my ability to learn from past mistakes, my ability to think creatively, and the enthusiasm and dedication that I have for my tasks. Moreover, I possess great analytical and communication skills that I find to be useful in the workplace.
What are your weaknesses?
My most significant flaws are saying “no” to other people and letting go of projects that I have started working on. I also tend to concentrate so much on exquisite details, which tend to draw my energy. Besides, I become impatient when a project runs out of time.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to work with people who love what they do and are passionate about it. Such a job presents me with the opportunity to explore my creativity and analytical skills without having to worry about offending other people around me.
Discuss your educational background.
I attended Long Beach Unified high school in California from 2013 to 2017 before I joined Columbia University to pursue a degree in Computer Science in 2018. I have also managed to enroll into a CISCO academy where I have completed CISCO certifications 1 and 2 during my stay at the university. I look forward to graduate from Columbia University next year.
Tell me how you handled a difficult situation.
I recall an incident where some of my colleagues at OTS Solutions, where I was working as an intern, failed to come to work because of they were sick. As a leader and a supervisor, I had to handle most of the work by myself and a few of the employees who had turned up on that particular day. It was challenging because of the workload. It was tremendous, and the deadline was tight.
What motivates you?
Finishing a task before the set deadline is one of my greatest motivators. I also like learning new things and mentoring others when working on a project.
Who is your mentor?
My mentor is my mother. She is a hardworking woman who has managed to raise seven of us without any stable income sources. Her hard work, diligence, and determination are what I admire the most. I always strive to work hard in everything I do just to put a smile on her face.
How do you handle pressure?
I handle pressure by ensuring that I understand what I am supposed to do before planning on how I will execute the task. I usually begin with simple tasks before moving on to the difficult one to save time. Furthermore, I prioritize the important tasks so that I handle them first.
What are your career goals?
I have three career goals that I want to accomplish. I want to become an expert in my field, start my own business, and improve my networking skills.
Are you a leader or a follower?
Usually, I am a follower. I am good at taking instruction and executing them to my level best. However, when times come that need somebody to step and become a leader, I become a leader. Therefore, I would say that I try to balance between being a leader and being a follower and that my role depends on that nature of the circumstance.
