Introduction
From the research topic, “The Importance of Open Source Software,” I have learned that technology has brought a dynamic paradigm shift in terms of globalization and modernization with people able to connect and form virtual groups that improve the state of the communities. Throughout the study, I realized that the internet has made the world smaller with increased access to information. The technological inventions have contributed to inputs capable of solving the everyday problems with open software being part of this technology. This paper analyzes and explains my research and writing process in the semester by exploring the research methodology as well as the hardest and easiest parts of my research and the advice I would give to other writing a research paper.
Milestone of Completing the Research Paper
Completing my research paper entailed writing a thesis statement, a well-structured introduction, body paragraphs, a conclusion and the bibliography. The paper also comprised of an abstract giving the summary and the significant aspects of the entire paper, including the overall purpose of the study, the research problems and the major findings. I used the assigned style guide to ensure correct citations. Before submitting the research paper, I revised by proofreading it several times. Through the process of writing my research paper, I learned various things. Firstly, I learned how to identify and develop my topic, which was the most challenging part. Secondly, I learned how to do the preliminary search of information by locating the required materials and evaluating various materials. Taking notes is significant in developing the research paper. Also, I realized the need to proofread my work as there were a lot of typo errors that needed to be corrected before submitting my work.
Methodology
My research methodology entailed a review of several sources. The journal articles used in this study were obtained from google scholar. They were used to investigate the importance of open sources software. Studying the importance of open-source software entailed consulting these credible resources which helped disclose the merits and demerits of open-source software. The articles delved into six in-depth resources on open source software to uncover its importance.
Hardest and Easiest Parts
The hardest part of writing this research paper was identifying the research topic and developing the purpose of the research. Use of the peer-reviewed articles for methodology was the easiest part as it not much involved like the use of interviews and other quantitative research methods. Besides, the articles provided clear information on the importance of open-source software, making it easy to develop the research paper.
Conclusion
I would have liked to write a length paper while using various research methods to explore multiple approaches and ideas on the importance of open-source software. To other preparing and writing a research paper, I would advise you to embrace the use of various research methodologies both qualitative and quantitative to explore your research topics exhaustively.
