Spirituality is an energy that extends beyond religion and all earthly endowments. It pushes the mind to be steady amidst life’s challenges thus enabling the body to operate within the limits of healthy function. On the other hand,
God is a creator; He created things that can be seen and those that our naked eyes can’t perceive (Colossians 1:15). This resonates that it is through God that all diseases can be healed and all situations restored. Paul says that Jesus desires to present us holy, unblamable and unreprovable to God. This can only come to be if our faith is grounded and settled in the gospel. The gospel says that it is God who heals all diseases (Psalm 103:3). The gospel goes ahead to say that the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God (1 Corinthians 3:23). Jesus used parables which brought the meaning of the message that He was preaching so profound that it made more sense to the listeners.
God created human beings, and he hopes that His glorious power will strengthen them. People were once perfect creatures, but they sinned and fell. Before they sinned, they had been placed in a perfect environment comprising of fruit bearing trees and seed bearing herbs which were for man’s service. Currently, human beings are inherently sinners in medical terms they are unwell. Health is the state of the body or something that one is describing. Just like Jesus blood on the cross laid foundation for our healing from our sinful nature, so is the work of nurses. Therefore nursing is the art of inducing restoration. Nurses have trained personnel who help induce the body to start healing (Colossians 1:20).
Therefore it is clear that human knowledge is essential in healthcare, but it is far from being the final option. There is the peace that comes with praying for a sick patient and that is why the Bible says that if we follow God’s statutes and commandments, then He will not put any of the diseases in us.
