Planet Mars is on the radar of scientists from all over the world for possible colonization. Past researches show that mars initially had water making it a hospitable place. On the same note, Mars is known to hake other conditions that can support life. In comparison to other planets, Mars requires less energy to reach. This means that in the future; human being will inhabit Mars.
Paksoy, H. B. "Humans on Mars and beyond." 2012, www.vlib.iue.it/carrie/texts/carrie_books/paksoy13/Paksoy_HUMANS%20ON%20MARS.pdf.
Colonizing mass is a good idea but is being done for the wrong reasons. Initially, it was a form of exploration, but currently, it is a show of might. Long ago when the whites were occupying America, they came along with their cultures. They did not recognize those of the natives. Paksoy says that there is a possibility of this conflicts being taken outside to planet Mars.
Szocik, Konrad, Tomasz Wojtowicz, and Leszek Baran. "War or peace? The possible scenarios of colonizing Mars." Space Policy (2017).
Day by day colonizing Mars is turning from being an idea into reality. Szocik and his team (34) observe that there are underlying obstacles in the path of achieving the same. If for example, a nation like America takes that step, there is a high possibility that other countries like Russia will feel challenged and begin exploring mars as well. It will be hard for there to be some diplomacy and hence war is likely to happen up there.

While the previous generation had their focus primarily on the moon, issues have now taken a new twist. Man is now entirely focused on reaching the moon. The first approach being employed is the use of special space-crafts powered by boosters. This crafts will by far aid in the exploration of mars directly. A severe technological overhaul is necessary as a measure towards the ultimate goal of colonizing Mars.
Dade-Robertson, Martyn, Carolina Ramirez-Figueroa, and Meng Zhang. "Radical Vernacular: Bacterial Architecture on Mars." Journal of the British Interplanetary Society 67.7 (2014): 346-353.
Study of the biological diversity of microbes existing in planet Mars is the first step in the whole process of colonizing. It is important to examine the conditions that they live in to be sure of the real conditions in mars. At the same time, temperatures in mars can be as low as -60o C. The atmospheric pressure is -6 k pa as compared to earth's 100k pa (Robertson, Martyn, Carolina and Meng 350). From this, it is clear that there is a massive difference between the two planets. Moderation has to be employed since it is necessary to find a way of fixing the conditions to make them favorable for human survival.
Nair, Wg Cdr Kiran Krishnan. "ASGARDIA: THE NEW SPACE NATION EXAMINING THE LEGAL, ECONOMICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL SENSE IN THE PROPOSAL."2016
In the recent past, more and more companies are venturing into space exploration. Some of them include the Space X and more recently the Asgardia. The problem is that most of these companies talk of colonization of mars yet it is robots that are sent to help in monitoring the conditions up there. However, the Asgardia developed a new approach. Instead of venturing into mars, they are in a space station that can hold life. Space and mars colonization lacks some legal backing making it far much risky. Economically, space exploration is too expensive.
Adams, David, Peter Larkham, and Daniel J. Sage. "Planners in space?" (2018).
There is an existing problem on the planning of space exploration. Some argue that colonizing the planets will boost human beings genetically. However, there is no scientific backing making it remain a rumor. Adams, David, Peter, and Daniel (310) point out that the planners of the movement of people into space are in a crisis as there is no existing plan of identifying individuals willing to migrate to other planets. More civic education has to be done to enable the likes of Elon Musk to achieve their targets of colonizing Mars.
