On the other and, Steve Jobs added that leadership involves acting as role model to your followers. According to Jobs, leadership is motivating your followers to do the things that they never believed they could do. For this chief objective of administration, leaders must be well-groomed and adorable in character. The excellent leadership attributes in an individual inspire his/ her followers to imagine themselves accomplishing their dreams without any limitation. Steve Jobs asserted that in most cases, managers are promoted based on their practical potentials rather than their capabilities to lead and motivate. Steve Jobs is today recognized for his achievements as a Chief Executive Officer in Apple Inc Company before his demise in 2011. Steve Jobs, for instance, manifested high levels of self-reliant and independence all through his leadership regime. Jobs' level of creativity also consternated his followers. The Apple Inc company indeed has missed the innovative nature of Jobs.( Heracleous & Papachroni, 2016). Since his demise, the Apple Inc company has never come up with new innovations on its own.
Creativity, determination, and high level of intelligence are typical qualities attributed to the prominent leadership skills of Steve Jobs. Jobs' profound legacy in leadership arose majorly from his artistic ways of inspiring his followers. Steve was a person from whom many leadership lessons could be derived. Steve Jobs was a leader who manifested flexibility during his leadership role. Adaptability could be the only understated leadership attribute, yet it is one of the most critical traits of a good leader. Even at the age of 30 years, Steve Jobs adapted accordingly to the frequently changing world. Steve's commercially personal computers were continually getting upgraded to match the modernized world. Jobs never stopped envisioning new ways to make his innovations be accepted. The implementation of mouse is an indication of the adaptability attribute of Steve Jobs. As a leader, one should always endeavor to keep changing so as to fit in any cooperate world. Steve Jobs was associated with epitome focus in his leadership. He acknowledged the many potentialities in the advancing world, and this propelled his extreme level of attention in doing things. Steve manifested his enthusiasm in the way perfected his products. He, for instance, picked up technology and made it part of his daily activity. Focusing on facilitated goal setting and staying committed to fulfilling the set objectives.
According to the reasons ascribed as to why most Chief Executive Officers fail, arrogance has propelled to a more significant percentage, the downfalls of most of the CEOs. On the contrary, Steve Jobs, despite being very wealthy, never portrayed arrogance to his followers and coworkers. He always devoted maximum cooperation to whatever he did so as to realize best results of products. Audacity comes with the unwilling to be accountable for responsibilities when working strategies tend not to succeed. Chief Executive Officers who fail to be responsible for their actions and tend to be blaming their juniors for the undesirable results always end up in uncontrolled abyss. In any working organization, the junior employees become intrinsically motivated when they become associated with company's achievements. On the contrary, Steve Jobs had a different personality when it came to motivating his followers. Steve was always leading by actions and not by commands, as most of the managers do. Leading by examples inspired the co-workers who Steve Jobs participated with, making them crave to do things without being forced.
Consequently, just like many of creative thinkers, Steve Jobs never concentrated on reproducing products that already were existing. Jobs believed in fresh ways of doing things rather than duplicating ideas. His leadership was marked by a grand vision where he envied to do a different matter and not to make better the already existing ideas. As a leader, this quality to foresee various ways of doing things made Steve be an outstanding innovator. His vision attribute of leadership was manifested when he invented iPad device. Before the invention of iPad into the market, no person ever imagined merging smartphones and computer. However, iPad devices have been appreciated universally and have convinced many consumers and revolutionize business maneuvers. Jobs' beliefs enabled him to undo the perception of reality in his leadership style. He was a leader who inspired people to always think differently daily and never to rely on the thing that others had invented. Perceiving ideas in this way enabled Steve Jobs followers to realize that everything was possible, and to achieve them depended on an individual's efforts.
Additionally, Steve Jobs manifested simplicity in his leadership style when he did away with the on and off button on the iPod. iPod was a music player invented by Steve Jobs. Initially, the iPod was very complex, with a button that was used to switch it on and off. Having the leadership ability to simplify work, Steve Jobs introduced a more streamlined way of changing the music player on and off. Through simplicity, the music player slowly powered down and turned off and later turned on through flashing. As a leader, an individual should always possess the art and skills of simplifying works to reduce the amount of time spent on accomplishing a given assignment. Too many complex tasks prolonged the achievement of organizational objectives. As a perfect designer, designer, Jobs prospered at scheming stumbling blocks that were hindrances to computer speeds.
On the other hand, Leaders should also have the power to manage their experience. Quality leadership entails taking responsibility for any organization's action to the later. Just like with the Apple Inc company, Steve Jobs took utmost responsibility for his product from beginning to end. Every component of the product was comprehensively analyzed, and this improved the general outlook of his products. Many times, managers are only interested in the result of product, and they tend not pay attention to how the results are achieved. This mode of leadership is majorly manifested among the dictatorial style of management. However, for proper synchronized management of an organization, managers and leaders should create a free working atmosphere through adoption of the popular method of leadership.
Steve Jobs, led by acting and impacting the lives of his followers through his outstanding inventions in the field of modern technology. As a matter of fact, Jobs' contributions in contemporary computing can never b disputed. Steve's committed fanatics worldwide were always seen filling the local Apple store to pay last respect for the fallen hero. Apparently, no other Chief Executive Officer has ever inspired people to the extent to which Steve Jobs did. Even though he sometimes had things done in the wrong way, he always strived to adapt and rectify the made a mistake. Acknowledging the fact that human is to err, motivated Jobs boldness in the way he did things. Several people in the world have also confirmed that there are never many people universally who they can consider as role models. However, Steve Jobs has been voted as one of the few Chief Executive Officers to have impacted the perception of people and how people did things. Steve's consternating vision has been admired by many people. Consequently, Steve Jobs always asked for the best results from those who worked in close relation with him as well as from himself. Most of all, his eternal legacy has directly influenced people's attitudes, and this substantiates his excellent leadership qualities.
Steve Jobs led through constructive criticism of the actions of those who lived around him. In a generation where incoherence is the single unchanging aspect of life, the potentialities to lead with wisdom have almost diminished. Many leaders have shown an endless love for new systematic innovations to deal with the current universal agenda such as environmental, power, and biodiversity issues. However, Steve Jobs was never a trait to rely on the innovations of other people. He always believed in doing things in a completely different way. Steve did not support improving already existing ideas to solve a situational problem but instead found in coming up with new concepts. The current changing world needs leaders who will come to critical conclusions after acknowledging the fact that all is contextual. Prominent leaders should thus make important decisions knowing that nothing is ever permanent. Steve Jobs was recognized as a leader because he was always willing to adapt to the changing world. He never stopped visioning new concepts, as is with the case with most current leaders.
