An analytical essay breaks down the content of a text, a process or an idea, and describes, through detailed explanations, every bit of the material. The primary goal is to deliver an easily comprehensible analysis of the content in question. In literature, an analytical essay usually dissects the contents of the stipulated text and deeply explains each part for a more fundamental understanding of the literary work. However, this paper seeks to analyze how a student enrolling in Professor Flanagan’s Comp II class can write excellent analytical essays.
There cannot be an analytical essay without a subject to analyze. Therefore, it is only logical to begin by identifying a story to write about. Mostly, if it is classwork, a topic will be provided by the instructor of a particular subject. However, sometimes one has to identify an issue that they will analyze in their essay. If it is a fictional literary work, it is imperative that the article focuses on a particular theme and breaks it down while giving meaning for easy comprehension of every detail brought forward by the idea. For instance, the essay could analyze the theme of revenge in Vitellius A. xv, Cotton’s epic poem “Beowulf.” In some other cases, the analysis may be of a historical event or a scientific discovery. In this case, the essay should on the different segments of the past event, giving detailed explanations in each.
On the other hand, the essay should use the scientific method to analyze the said discovery. The article should incorporate the significant influences on choosing a particular story to investigate. For example, in this essay, the significant impact is the desire to write an excellent analytical essay to students soon to join a composition class.
After establishing the center story for an analytical essay, a thesis statement is determined. A thesis statement is the declaration of the objective of an analytical essay- and any other piece for that matter. It must adequately cover the whole paper, as it has to give the reader the idea behind the analytical essay. Brainstorming can be a very lucrative way to develop a thesis statement with a proper prior thought about the story to be analyzed. For the article interesting, there will have to be exotic information that perfectly joins with the general paper and its r central idea, like done on this paragraph - including how to develop a thesis statement.
Every good essay has three major parts: the introduction and thesis statement, the body, and recommendations and conclusion. The submission must be catchy enough to invoke the reader’s attention. It contains a simple description of the central idea of the paper, and through the thesis statement, it screams the purpose of the analytical essay. The body is arguably the most crucial part. It contains all the details, explanations of the analysis, and elaborating the central idea in the analytical paper. Different paragraphs adequately explain specific stages of a process or the text’s details in an easily understandable manner. The conclusion part wraps up the analytical essay generalizing the already expounded points and displaying a summary of the analysis.
If I were to do an analytical essay, I would not charge the topic. I would appreciate it as it is now. In my personal opinion, the greatest gift anyone can give on another is knowledge. Bypassing on the insight on how to write good analytical essays to the new student, I give them a priceless gift, and this is a win for me. This topic was a bit challenging because concrete research had to be made, and the delivery had to be top-notch. When I get a taste of knowledge, I tend to want more. I would read more literary works from an author who gives fascinating arguments. In conclusion, an excellent analytical essay should provide a detailed account of the given subject with the primary goal of delivering understandable content. It should have three parts: the introduction, body, and conclusion.
