Following orders in military service is not an option but a requirement that every individual must accept. Orders from both the commissioned and non-commissioned officers are all important as they provide direction towards what needs to be undertaken at specific times and under different circumstances. Compliance with the rules and regulations as well as showing obedience often enable the military to conduct its activities in an effective and organized manner which is essential during the challenging moments in the military situation. In many organizations, people often tend to question the notion of obedience and compliance with daily activities. In the military, the above case is a luxury option that may interfere with the operational processes, especially during the crisis and wars. The goals of every military service require hierarchical coordination and smooth internal operation where following a command is not an option but an authoritative instruction that every officer must observe. Many standards and requirements of work in a non-military service may not be deemed as essential in the military service. For instance, punishment is not seen as a positive act in the normal life of a person, whoever, in the military, it becomes an important correctional process. When formulating orders in the military service, the subordinates often have little chance of participation; only the generals and high ranking officials normally take part in establishing orders that ought to be followed by all the officers. For one to be successful in the military service, they need to be responsible for their actions, observe the chain of commands and perform them with integrity, nobility, and selflessness. The military service is a service that works under specific goals, encountering threats and ensuring the protection of territorial boundaries. Obeying the laws and order is a universal code in every military where every officer must become obedient to every instruction given by an officer in the service. Failing to obey the commands is a gross mistake that is punishable because it can lead to the malfunctioning of the military operational system.

In most cases, new recruits are trained to obey the orders immediately without raising any question. In Article 91 of the same code, it is a crime for the member of the armed forces to deliberately disobey a warrant or superior non-commissioned officers in the United States military. Finally, Article 92 of the above code of military justice stipulates that it is a crime for any military officer to disobey the lawful orders; in this case, the disobedience does not need to be deliberate or willful (Morris, 2010). Members of the United States military often disobey orders at their own risk. An order to undertake the military operation irrespective of how dangerous the mission may become is lawful and it must be respected by all officers that are selected.
In the United States, the military operations are often carried out in an orderly fashion, a situation that is only possible through a different set of commands that guides every duty undertaken by each military officer. Following directions creates a sense of organization which then enhances the operation of the entire military force. There are always different officers that give directions and work procedures to be undertaken at different circumstances. And although the commissioned officers may be superior to the non-commissioned officers, the commands from both are significant to the military service as a whole. Both the officers play significant roles in ensuring the effectiveness of the military officers. The non-commissioned officers possess experience in the service and they understand different situations that may lead to the military fallback, their commands or orders are thus essential for the continuity of the entire United States military force. Military responsibilities, integrity, and duty are essential to the army. The duties of the non-commission officers involve taking care of the soldiers under his or her command in accomplishing the mission. On the other hand, the main duty of a soldier is to obey orders from their team leader. Responsibilities and duties are part of the military values and they ought to be observed to the latter for the purposes of ensuring an integrated and functional force. Duties involve fulfilling the obligations. In the United States military, undertaking a duty is more than doing a consigned task. Undertaking and accomplishing different tasks as a team is important in the military which is involved in the undertakings of intricate combinations of missions.

Soldiers under the non-commissioned officers have different responsibilities such as safeguarding the nation from domestic and foreign threats, expansion and protection of territorial borders. The soldiers should, therefore, follow orders from the non-commissioned officers to ensure successful operation in the above lines of duties. There are circumstances that a soldier must think carefully about the orders or the commands given by the non-commissioned officers. Duty requires that a soldier should refuse to heed the illegal orders.
The non-commissioned officers have the military expertise and they are capable of guiding the soldiers to successful missions. They understand every strategy and the abilities of the soldiers under their command. Therefore, observing their commands and orders is essential. In addition to giving out orders to the soldiers, non-commissioned officers in the United States military are more conceptually proficient and they posse's interpersonal skills essential in the military operations, they also understand the technical aspects of their job. Non-commissioned officers understand the army values, integrity as well as moral and legal actions required for every soldier. They know what is morally and legally right in the military service. Failing to observe integrity and the moral principles in the military service often leads to the punishment which sometimes becomes severe. Therefore taking the orders and directions given by the non-commissioned officers in the military is essential in avoiding unnecessary punishment. For the junior soldiers in the military service, integrity is usually instilled at the beginning of the training process and as an individual continues providing services they grasp army values which are even applicable to off duties. The information in the U.S military usually flows down from the top management, and what the non-commissioned officers are giving out is a command that has been scrutinized by the top military officers. Disobeying such commands means going against the codes of conduct of the entire military service. Every soldier must, therefore, pay attention and respect the orders given by the non-commissioned military officers. In the U.S military, there exist guiding principles that every officer must observe. Respecting non-commissioned officers is the important part of the rules and regulations.
