People all over the world face the endless need to prosper and exceed their capabilities by earning more and striving for ultimate career and personal success. The resultant cause imposes that people should seek out reforms to help them achieve their claim. The singer, Randy Newman, examines his daily encounters and illustrates his concern about why many people who are way better than him struggle to make ends meet. As such, the thesis is premised on the analysis of Randy Newman’s song, Its Money that Matters, an exciting piece that explores the theme of money, whoever you are, what matters is the money, particularly in the U.S.
In Randy Newman’s opinion, most people cannot seem to adjust to the fast-paced world of ingenuity and economic prowess. The elaboration to this claim is noted in Randy’s argument that those people he used to know as more intelligent and brighter could barely make an earning. They work at flourishing enterprises, from bookstores to public radio stations. Still, they continuously need financial help to achieve even the most basic needs, such as clothing for their children. These instances lead him to the conclusion that it is money that matters, especially in the United States, and he preaches others to heed his plea. His undying need to help others pushes him to come up with reference quotes on how the United States environment favors those who have money (Song Facts, N.P).
Life experiences also play a significant role in his quest to understand why many seem to suffer and not fully prosper. He illustrates this claim by calling his childhood memories in which he went home and asked his family members on what truly matters, and no one seemed to know the answer. He talked to everyone he knew, and they too did not know the answer to what he sought. By basing his assumptions on his miniatured study of responses from family members and friends alike, he reiterates in his song that it is money that genuinely matters in whatever a person does (Song facts, N.P).
His quest leads him to stumble upon a fat man in his residence area who seems to provide him with the answer he seeks. He illustrates this claim by firstly vividly describing the man. The man is oddly dressed, and Newman makes fun of his attire while washing his car. The man responds by telling him he owns an enormous house up the hill, has two pools in his home, and has a blonde for a wife (Land of Dreams, N.P). Newman concludes that appearances are deceiving and that the man is wealthy; hence what only matters at any moment is having money to accomplish any task undertaken. The discovery confirms to him that his earlier assumption that money matters is a genuine initiative that re-instills his affirmation to seek out money in any instance and wishes others would heed his advice based on discovery. In the United States, it is money that matters in whatever one does, and it is a fact.
Conclusion
In summary, the singer’s vision for a free evolving society is achieved as he finds his calling and imposes his discoveries on others. He openly wants everyone to seek out his observation mandates and how they transform lives. Personal appearance is secondary and what matters are ways a person uses to earn and expand his means of earning. Such efforts evoke a positive validation of achievements undertaken through thought-out procedures as a means to barely scrape by to make ends meet.
