Introduction
Family relationships play a critical role in developing a strong and bond between children as well as fostering a feeling of love and security. However, many people around the world are living with these challenges thus ending up breaking their families up. Although many people always think that breaking up their families through a divorce is the right choice for their happiness, Olszewski-Kubilius researched that they do not always consider the life they want for their children. Furthermore, certain problems occur in families that can lead to neglect and child abuse, for instance as Reupert et al. imply when one or both parents are involved in drug abuse, gambling or overworking which have strong effects on families may tend to withdraw financial assistance. Also, some parents use their children as a tool for satisfying their emotional and physical needs.
Family Problems
Although this is just a few of the examples mentioned, they will lead to children taking sides and thus resulting in more family problems. The Annie Casey Foundation should use the robust network they have to provide counseling, training and economic opportunities which can be funded by government and private organizations to foster and develop strong family relationships that will create a feeling of love, care and security although many foundations do not think it is important they should review the amount of money spend in foster care homes.
Family Counselor
To ensure strong relationships are fostered and developed, I would recommend that through a robust network developed by the foundation, these families can be guided by a family counselor. Also, Charles Dun stipulates in the interview that parents and guardians are hard to manage because they do not accept to change and thus arguing that children are the issue. The Annie E. Casey foundation can have the ability to provide education to parents and educate them how to realize the difficult experiences their children pass through; recognize the behaviors they need to change and practice new and healthier behaviors which are helpful for family development. The cost of family assessment and training varies depending on the issue at hand because some families will have nothing and thus require more funding’s to cater to the services. However, due to the increased children in foster homes, the government and other private organizations would be willing to help to reduce child abuse and other unethical behaviors that continue to increase in society. Lack strong family relationship has resulted to children leaving their homes and involved other activities such as theft and bullying, nonetheless, through fostering of families, many children will feel loved, care and secure thus developing into independent and ethical adults. Although it will be challenging for the foundation to start due to challenges in funding, the proposal has focused on almost the same goals as what the foundation is focusing on but in a different view. strengthening families and building stronger communities is founded by having strong family relationships.
Conclusion
The foundation spends a lot of money in foster care and supporting children. Therefore, through fostering and developing strong family relationship the foundation will be able to focus on other objectives such as creating opportunities for parents and juvenile justice. Also, strong family relationships ensure efficient community development. Children require their family to have a feeling of care, love and security thus living ethically as well as becoming responsible individuals in the community.
