The general purpose of this speech is to educate on the importance of considering the use of cheap and natural products such as honey in their quest to prevent cancer, and diabetes, and to heal chronic wounds. After this speech, the impotence of honey will be known, and the impotence of using honey regularly and not using processed sugar and expensive medicines to prevent and cure cancer, chronic wounds, and diabetes will be understood.
Ladies and gentlemen, honey has been around us all our lives, and yet we know so little about it. We only know that it is a thick sweet substance that honey bees make from nectar of flowers. I had to get into an accident before I discovered its usefulness. I remember when my mother suggested applying honey on my wound, I was surprised to the core. I later did dense research that I will share with you today. Did you know that honey has a lot of health benefits and is precious than the thick sweet liquid we know? Most patients with chronic wounds, diabetes, and cancer, choose to rush to expensive modern medicine forgetting the use of cheap, readily available, natural, and effective products such as honey.
Without further ado, let me introduce you to some basic terms. Any wound that takes more than three months without healing is chronic. Cancer is connected to the development of abnormal cells in the body. Diabetes is a disease that occurs when one’s blood sugars are so high. In this speech, I will tell you about the healing power of honey and the possibilities of preventing and curing diabetes and cancer through the use of honey.
Did you know about the healing power of honey? It contains antibacterial properties like hydrogen peroxide, which has therapeutic effects in the treatment of wounds. It affects the development of cells that replace the tissues damaged by injuries. Honey also acts as a messenger to body cells to produce an immune response to the body. Naiz et al. (2017) clearly state that honey has an insulin-like effect on the body cells and quickens the process of healing and assists cell regeneration.
Honey inhibits the growth and progression of cancer. The development of cancerous cells is mostly supported by the availability of high sugars in the body. Honey contains mechanisms that help the body to regulate the production of blood glucose and inhibit the growth of such cells. According to Ejuruwa, Suleiman, and Wahab (2014), honey contains antimetastatic, anticancer, and antiproliferative effects and is highly cytotoxic against cancer cells in the human body. This effectiveness is evident in the research conducted by medics on different patients with liver, prostate, kidney, skin, cervical, oral, breast, and bone cancer.
Continued honey consumption reduces the risks of deaths caused by diabetes and heart diseases. Diabetes has been one of the most known causes of death in recent times. However, patients of this disease are usually affected by other conditions such as heart diseases that result in death. Abdulrhman (2016) states that the regular consumption of honey helps to reduce weight loss and control the blood pressures of these patients. The evidence of this effectiveness was witnessed by volunteer diabetic patients in the UK who stopped taking medicines and used honey as a sole treatment for their illnesses.
Conclusively, patients with chronic wounds, cancer, and diabetes should not result in using expensive modern drugs and instead adopt the use of honey. It has the power to heal wounds, regulates cancerous cells, lowers blood pressure, and reduce weight for diabetes patients. I urge people to adopt honey consumption for its various benefits.
