“You can have it all” is a misleading statement among the young the generation that details their dreams. Self-control is what matters for one to achieve life goals but not the self-actualization. Based on the arguments of Harrison if one does not have self-control, then they can achieve anything in life. Self-control teaches patience as we work to achieve our goals, we go through a lot, but when we lack self-control, then we cannot have anything to smile about. Another misleading statement that is used among the young people is, if we can put our minds together then we can do anything which can include eve killing people to have a living. The statement that is used by most of the motivational speakers to mislead the young generation who look for a shortcut.

Most of the children admire what their parents are, and most of the time they want to do the jobs their parents do and even to die a similar death like for their parents. Harrison talks of the American dream value menu that consists of family, friends, fun, fitness, finance and the dream. An individual can have all the value menu but not at the same time because they require a lot of time to establish. Maybe one can only pick three and ignores the rest at a particular time in life. If you have to do something great in life, then you have to give up on some of the cool staffs you see around. If you have to achieve your set goals, then you have to sacrifice some of the good things you around your life, it maybe is fun or even abandons some of your friends.

On the other hand, they can make you forget the hard times you go through as they work towards your goals. According to Harrison, it is appropriate for the young generation to get married and start families for them to do something great in life because they will remain focused.
