The film is a retelling of the famous opera Carmen which consists of a charming character called Maruschka Detmers, who falls in love with a soldier called Joseph but later betrays him. The film starts with an image showing Carmen outside the bank, taking away the soldier towards the car. At the front sit, there is an arm of an individual let through the window. Retelling the story helps ease the complexity of the film, which would not be understood. The film is about disconnection and sex, as well as the intimate relationship between passion and violence. I think the filmmaker succeeded in the making of the movie in terms of conveying the message to the right people of that specific time and the future. Whatever is portrayed within the film is not new today but has been adopted, especially within the film industry. The uncle is a retired director with all the necessary equipment for a film shooting but wants her niece to compromise for him to accord the required help. The film is also a highlight of what goes on within the healthcare facilities. For instance, Godard is admitted to the hospital but can access his cigarettes. Not even questioning it, Carmen joins, and they enjoy together. Godard also seems less interested as he does not matter what brought Carmen in his room. Again, an indication that there is something fishy happening, the two cannot maintain eye contact, and they are always on the move. It is also clear that the two know whatever deal they have; that is why Carmen is not surprised when told that Gordard has to fall sick every week for him to continue living in the hospital.

Some of the cinematography properties present within the movie include and not limited to unpredictable soundtracks such as onscreen speaking. At the same time, there is also total silence as the character does the onscreen speaking as well as the presence of the non-diegetic sound that helps disrupt the reality in the film. A harsh cawing of seagulls is introduced when Carmen says she wants to make a film near the beach. Godard played the best role of a crazy uncle who is a retired director and pretends to be sick so he can stay in hospital. He is crazy such that he promises the doctors to get a fever soon after being told about being kicked out of the hospital. From the love story of Carmen and Joseph, it is the real representation of the situation even today. Most crime is organized by some well-informed individuals within the security department that have partnered with criminals to conduct business through the dark market. The two actors are seen kissing and taking cigarettes and indicating that the content in the film is sexual and crime-related. Even the dressing mode of Carmen suggested how probably she would seduce Joseph.

Godard, who is a retired director, sheds more light on what happens in the industry by trying to sexually raise her niece for her to get the apartment and other equipment. Carmen also had a role well played because she illustrated that an individual should not be destructed by the challenges they face but focus on meeting their goals. The setting of the film is also perfect. For instance, Godard, who is acting being mentally ill, was set and isolated in a hospital precisely in his room with nobody. Again, he is allowed to stay in with his film equipment, such as the camera that also produces music to keep him entertained in his way. The actors were so real that you see how immoral they are by trying to arise each other sexually. Their acting skills are excellent. For instance, Godard acts like a mad person and does crazy things during the entire conversation. They even try to show how he is not aware of what he is doing through his week memory. For instance, when he is asked if the house is free, he responds by saying yes. At the same time, he says that the gardener or his wife will give the niece the keys.

Godard has used various styles to communicate his message, some of which are termed as a cinema for cinema and cinema for literature. Cinematography flexibility is more common through his use for the cinema for cinema and intertextuality. The use of metaphors is highly evidenced in the film. Godard is seen as the craziest uncle, as well as the main character who is so attractive. He is approached by his niece, who wants to borrow his apartment and his equipment, and this constitutes an example of cinema with cinema. To analyze this example, therefore, the plot of the film begins where the niece approaches the uncle, and a new cinema is shown when she borrows her uncle's equipment to help explain a movie that she has. A fiction stand could be taken in place because we assume that the shooting of the other film by her niece never happened. Within the hospital, there is no interruption from individuals, an indication that Godard's life is private. People are heard communicating from other rooms and carrying their daily business as usual during this whole discussion. Acting like a soldier, Godard is well dressed with night time attires to protect him from cold. By Carman wearing a red trench coat, it could be an indication of danger.

Godard is not morally wanting, but this happens for a reason. He aims at showing people how various challenges face our desire and motive to achieve some of our goals. Within the film industry, the desire to create some content is determined by our jobs, social connections, as well as our physical and mental health.

The quality of the script within this film is high, although the disruption of onscreen communication is intentional. A profound message is communicated but in a very secretive way to help get the message home without causing a need for alarm. Character's hair and makeup seem undone, an indication that they tend to focus more on the essential aspects which by then were the production of a new film. From Godard, this could be an indication that he expected nobody in his room; thus, he is such a private person. The visual designs are so useful. For instance, within the place where Godard is during their communication with the niece, the presence of flowers is a sign of relief and new hope. He also has his filming equipment such as the camera, which he claims to have made it himself and that it makes some music. The scenery outside the hospital is beautiful, with some flowers seen from inside. The hospital beds, too are need an indication that, to some extent, hygiene within the facilities is crucial. On the table with the light, there are books on it, a sign that Godard is sure of what they are doing.

In conclusion, it is shocking that the lady among the kidnappers is the one taking away the soldier. There is a possibility that Godard is trying to convey some message symbolically. For instance, this could be an indication that there are men out there being assorted by women. Second, it could be communication that women have engaged in crime because it is hard to suspect a woman who is participating in such criminal activities. Godard is shocked by the knock on the door indicating that he does not know where he is. The occurrence of Carmen in the same clothes that she abducted Godard with could be a way to help him remember her. Godard confuses her with her niece, and that is why Carmen seems confused when he asked her about being Elizabeth's daughter. This is an excellent acting skill that, as a mentally sick individual, he is not able to recall things. Generally, the film was well shot, and the message well conveyed. However, too much symbolism may cause a misunderstanding of the word or complete lack of communication. Again, the suspension portrayed to the individual on the selected part of the film leaves us wondering if really the niece did the filming. However, I feel that Carmen just introduced the solder to some crime by confusing him and making him mentally ill that he does not recognize whatever is happening.
