On a professional level, athlete management has fundamental roles, some of which might be used to exploit athletes in the hands of poor management. Sports Management has the responsibility for hiring and firing athletes. Athletes’ managers work with other staff to draw contracts, which will be reached after a negotiation with athletes (Harwood et al., 2013). At the college level, it is the work of athletics management to work closely with the recruiting staff to pick and bring in the most talented athletes from high school into the school program. Among other perks, scholarships have become the most popular method of bringing the best talents into institutions. Apart from managing human resources, sport managers are also engaged with duties at other levels. When dealing with professional athletics, sport managers work with trainers and coaches to ensure that training resources required to put an athlete in a better position are available. Sports managers have an even more critical role when it comes to the business of sports management. At this level, the work of management plans the budgets taking into account staff salaries, athlete's salaries, and coaches, among others. The budget also includes uniforms, equipment, and travel (Ho & Kuvaas, 2020). Besides, coaches must take into consideration other aspects that might be unexpected such as injuries.

Apart from the professional responsibility of sport management, athletes' managers are also entitled to ensuring their sportsmen's wellbeing. It includes providing that athletes have a well-balanced diet, attending regular medical checkups, receiving efficient and sufficient psychological support, and coping with possible injuries that might occur during training or in real sports. However, this role has been neglected by most Athletics Managements today. Most managers focus only on gains that an athlete brings in terms of finance to the management (Iñigo et al., 2015). As such, sport management seems to value athletes only when they are in good health and extend cruel and unethical practices to them when they require some attention for their wellbeing. In some cases, athletes are neither given proper treatment when they are injured nor ample time to recover from injuries completely. Since management is only focused on the output or income they get from athletes, they use threats of firing them and replacing them with others to make them resume sports after severe injuries even before they are completely recovered. For these reasons, most American athletes struggle with stress and anxiety in their daily lives due to humiliation and concussions, and they end up committing unusual deaths due to trauma. An evidence for this is a boxer Patrick Day who dies after suffering a traumatic brain injury (Eppers, 2019). In the current study central importance is to analyze the forms of unethical behaviors, which include humiliation, mistreatment, abuse in sports clubs, and punishments. The study will examine the ethics in sports medicine to identify aspects of informed consent, confidentiality, advertising, and drug use among athletes and sportspeople regarding business management. The business problem contributed to ethical issues in sports is that the sports management team, including coaches, has commercialized the sports activities such that some players are forced to play in tournaments when they are under medication in concussions. The study will aim to answer how managers might encourage or use coercion to make athletes return from injury quickly even before they are fully recovered. The findings from this survey will help to show the adverse impact that the poor management of athletes can cause and raise the alarm for a need for haste intervention to save athletes.
