Compare and contrast Coca Cola's and Pepsi's attributes within the distinctiveness sub-dimension of the 3Cs model.
The Coca Cola Company and Pepsi company are huge businesses that are quite similar with regards to the industry within which they operate, the customers they seek to tap into, and their flagship products. Both companies lead on a global scale in producing different beverage brands. On the surface of things, both companies operate under the same models of business.
While Pepsi is associated with a diverse product portfolio, where it engages both in the beverage industry and snack foods industry as well, Coca Cola mainly relies on diversity in products within the beverage industry. As such, while a more significant percentage of Pepsi's revenue comes from sales outside the beverage industry, that of Coca Cola is entirely generated within the beverage industry.
In targeting consumers, Pepsi has sought to ensure that the purchase of one of its beverage products could trigger a subsequent purchase of another of its snacks-food products. Coca Cola has so far thrived in this particular focus by making crucial investments and communicating directly with its target market.

Dr Pepper Snapple is an equally significant competitor but has been overshadowed by the prominence of both Coca Cola and Pepsi.
