Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven are all outstanding composers with numerous achievement throughout their careers. The similarity between the music careers of all these great composers is that the foundation of their careers was the church. Franz Haydn was admitted into the church choir at a tender age of 8. Here, he learned how to play the keyboard and violin. He was also part of the choir at the church while he was still very young. When Wolfgang returned home after his tour of Zurich, he was given the position of assistant concertmaster at his church. He received a small compensation for his services. During this time he composed sonatas, string quartets, symphonies, operas, and serenades. Beethoven was also a very good with the keyboard at a tender age of 12. He was Christian Neefe's pupil at the church. Neefe was the court organist. Beethoven took his place at times when he was absent from his duties.

The difference between them involves the places where they worked and the duration of their work. After leaving the choir, Haydn taught and played violin in order to support himself while studying harmony. Later, he became Nicola Porpora's assistant composer in order to get lessons in exchange for his services. He became the court musician for the renowned Esterhazy family in 1761. This position supported him financially for close to 30 years. Even when he left Vienna he returned a few years later to take the same job. He was the inventor of the String Quartet. A majority of his career life was spent working for the Esterhazy family. Wolfgang, while in his native land, was given the position of assistant concertmaster at his church. He received a small compensation for his services. During this time, he composed sonatas, string quartets, symphonies, operas, and serenades. He was strongly passionate about the violin. He was a choirmaster for part of his career but as his composition became more popular, he earned more and led a very lavish lifestyle. He was based in Vienna for a majority of his career life. Mozart was the inventor of Baroque Style. Beethoven's career was very different from Haydn's and Mozart's. He was a composer and pianist of German descent. Most people still consider him the all-time-greatest pianist. The combination of instruments and vocals in his creative compositions widened the scope of the concerto, symphony, sonata, and quartet. He provided a connection between the romantic western culture and classical music. He was deaf and a majority of his compositions happened during his final years alive. Some of his best works include "Symphony No. 3," and "Fur Elise."

The lives of these people suggest that people held them in high regard because of their contributions to music. They came up with unique styles that were widely appreciated by individuals during their time. However, I do not have a similar opinion about their music today. Their compositions may have contributed massively to music but we live in an era where there are many styles of music being invented every day. We hardly listen to such music hence it is difficult to appreciate it.
