The Air Pollution Control Bill 2020 is a Florida law found in the US federal state law chapter 62-204. The law governs the processes of emission of substances into the air. It lays down the limitations that people and organizations should observe in the discharge of substances into the air. The Senate reviewed the bill in March 2020, and its sponsors were the Environmental Protection Agency (Overview of the Clean Air Act and Air Pollution, 2020). The act also explains how the government of the state invests its resources to ensure that the air remains unpolluted.
Additionally, the law covers actions of research, investigations and training by the government to ensure that the air remains clean and unpolluted. The chapter also provides the standards that the government sets to ensure that the environment remains clean. The act generally attempts o reduce the effect of the population of the state (Deryugina et al. 2020). The law requires the citizens to use fuels that are friendly to the air and which does not result in high risk of polluting the air.
Chapter 62-204 of the Air Pollution Act also established a department that was to be responsible for informing the public on the pollution condition of the air. Additionally, the law says that the government should contact the environmental impact assessment on all projects that citizens and organizations within the state will start. One of the aims of the environmental impact assessment would be to ensure that the business will not result in dangerous gasses emissions in the air. The objective of the air controlling rule is to ensure that the quality of the air does deteriorate with time. The law also set the procedures that the government will follow to design and restructure the processes and human resources.
The legal requirements of the act also include the criteria for conducting environmental impact assessment to control air pollution and ensure the air remains clean. Chapter 62-204 also provides the procedure for changing the law on the air and environment cleanliness. As a measure to mitigate the impact of air pollution and ensure a clean environment, the law requires that any method that aims to improve the condition of the air must be precise. The law lays timelines within which agencies should contact the process of implementing and enforcing the measures to keep the air clean. Additionally, the agencies which will undertake these mitigation measures should present written commitments.
All sectors of the economy must conform to this law to continue operating. The transport sector is one of the areas that the law monitors closely to ascertain its ability to protect the air resources in Florida and the United States. The provisions of the Clean Air Act are, however applicable to all the sectors and citizens of the country. The set limits of the gases that go to the atmosphere are similar for all sectors of the economy. The law aims at limiting the level of hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, and all the other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. All fuel combustors must adhere to the limits of the gas emissions that the act sets. The law also controls the level of ash and dust that goes to the atmosphere.
The act further requires agencies to conduct tests and assessments to ensure that companies and individuals meet the requirements. The agencies have a responsibility to enforce compliance of emission limits by all sectors of the economy in the state. Chapter 62-204 of the Clean Air Act also tasked the agencies with the responsibility of keeping records and reporting about the condition of the atmosphere. The act advocates for the need for public health and wellness of the population of the state.
