Specify the OS and reasons that you chose it.
Windows is the best computer operating system for gaming. Firstly, windows is easy to use. Also, it can support more games than any other operating system. Games perform better on windows than other operating systems. Windows can maintain consistent frame rates, reliable, and has better performance most of the time (Tomsho, 2020). Moreover, most of the games are released in windows, making it the best gaming operating system.
Specify the hardware components and why you chose them.
The essential components of a computer are those that it cannot be used without. The computer hardware consists of an integral part of elements in a gaming computer. A computer must have a random access memory(RAM), power supply, the central processing unit(CPU), video card, CPU cooler, and a storage device. The processor executes instructions of computer programs to carry out the tasks. It is the most crucial part of the computer. In a gaming laptop, one should at least use an Intel processor starting from core i3 and a speed of about 2.6GHZ for efficiency(Hwaitat, A. K. A., Shaheen, A., Adhim, K., Arkebat, E. N., & Hwiatat, 2018). The RAM stores any data that is used randomly. Thus it should have a storage of at least 6GB and above(Hwaitat et al. 2018). Also, a computer should have a storage device such as a hard disk drive or solid-state drive. A computer should have a video card that can allow high resolution and good graphics. For example, one can use AMD RX 480(Hwaitat et al. 2018). The computer should have a CPU cooler to ensure efficiency during its operations. Also, one should look for a motherboard from trusted brands.
Explain which computer components are most important for driving the ultimate design of the computer.
The CPU, RAM, power supply, motherboard, video card, and a storage device are the most critical components for driving the ultimate design of a computer. The CPU runs the execution of computer instructions. The RAM helps to store instructions that the computer uses every time temporarily. The motherboards acts as the central point to connect all the peripherals with the computer components(Roth & John, 2016). The power supply assists in ensuring that all the other components are powered. The video card enables the computer to produce clear images and graphics. The storage devices, such as drives, are responsible for the storage of data. Also, they hold the operating system.
The motherboard form factor and the choice of hardware
The motherboard is an essential component of a computer. It is responsible for the interaction of other elements such as the RAM, CPU, internal storage, video card, and other input /output devices. Thus, it is critical to recognize its capabilities, limitations, and the main characteristics to avoid repressing other attached components. The motherboard's shape and layout is known as the form factor(Roth & John, 2016). The form factor should be considered based on where the computer is used.
Today, computers have evolved rapidly, and each day, new technologies are developed to suit people's different needs. There are millions of embedded systems and IoT devices. The motherboard form factor for some of these devices is different from other traditional computers. For instance, the sizes are changing, and the forms are adapting to various applications. The motherboard size determines the device size. For example, a smartphone will have a different form factor to a personal workstation computer. The form factor dictates how the motherboard is designed regarding shape, size, casing, power supply systems, mounting holes, and the general layout.
Discuss the standards that determine CPU and motherboard compatibility
The motherboard and the processor compatibility is an essential aspect in computer design. Each motherboard has a chipset. A chipset is an installed firmware that enables the motherboard to communicate with the processor(Roth & John, 2016). Only some processors are compatible with specific motherboards. Also, a socket is an essential factor to consider. It is the standard associated with a motherboard's processor socket. The processor must fit in the motherboard. However, there are problems with some CPU's that have incompatible chipsets. The sockets layout is another vital standard when considering CPU and motherboard compatibility. The layout should be compatible with the motherboard. Moreover, the motherboard form factor determines its compatibility with the processor. The common motherboard form factors for gaming computers include: Mini ITX, micro ATX, ATX, and E-ATX.
