God made several promises to his people through the Bible. The bible is the word of God that people read to get to know more about God, what pleases Him, and the promises He makes to His people. Hence, being the word of God, the Bible contains God's spoken words through his people such as Prophets, His Son Jesus Christ, and the apostles. God communicates to his people through the Bible which was inspired by Him. To get to know what God wants, people read the bible. Bible is, therefore, Holy and contains the message from God. In this regard, the promises contained in the Bible are promises from God. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, the Bible is full of Gods promises.

The bible contains a plethora of promises. The first promise God made to his people is contained in Genesis 3:15 which states, "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel". This verse has been referred to as the proto-Evangelium because it contains the promise of redemption and reconciliation through His Son Jesus Christ. These words were spoken after man fell into sin and God cursed him. However, since God is all-loving, he could not condemn man forever and as a result, He promised humankind salvation through the suffering, death, and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus was the promised savior through whom God would provide his people with the lost grace. This promise was fulfilled in the New Testament following the birth of Jesus Christ. The seed referred to in Genesis 3:15 is the messiah, Jesus Christ, who would save all humankind from their fallen nature. For years, human being waited for the promised savior. Jesus would be bruised and suffer for the sake of the human race. However, he would crush the head of Satan through suffering to obtain salvation for humankind. Based on this promise, all Christians are Abraham's seed and heirs. To Abraham, the seeds denote the children that God gave him throughout the world. This shows that there is no salvation without suffering and through personal experiences, human beings must suffer to obtain salvation. The human race has to suffer as Jesus did to obtain salvation. Hence through suffering, the human race is sure to gain the promise of salvation made to them by God.

The second promise contained in the Bible is the promise that He would deliver Israelites from the land of Egypt where they lived as slaves to a land of their own, Canaan. Egypt was a foreign land where the Israelites were being treated as slaves and lived miserable lives. After praying to God, they were promised a peaceful and where they would be free from slavery and live a happy life. Moses led the Israelites through the desert to the Promised Land although he did not get to the land himself. Like the Israelites were promised freedom from slavery, even other Christians are promised freedom from oppression, the yoke of slavery, and bands of wickedness as evident in Isaiah 58:6. In this chapter and verse, God says, "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?. Through this bible verse, God is promising his loved one's delivery from oppression. In today's world, such promises continue to abide and we see various individuals undergoing oppression but they are later set free.

The third promise is the promise of forgiveness from sins. In second Chronicles 7:14, God promises that "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land". From the verse, God promises forgiven of sin as long as the human race fulfill the condition of praying and turning away from their wicked ways. In my life, I have experienced individuals who were sinful and after praying to God for their deliverance, they turned away from their sinful lifestyle and they started living happily. There are many other promises that God made to His people and through them, God displayed His loving nature to His people. His promises are fulfilled daily and bestowed upon His beloved ones.

In conclusion, God gives his people many promises that come to be fulfilled later in life. Many people have been able to relate their blessings as the fulfillment of the promises that God made to them through the Bible. Bible being the word of God is the tool that God uses to communicate to His people. The bible is full of promises and through them, God shows His loving nature to the human race. Christian lives are founded on the promises that God made to them through the Bible. The promise of salvation is long-awaited and Christians believe that God will save them after death.
