Back in 1944, in a place known as Sighet situated in Romania, Elie Wiesel spends a lot of time both on the Jewish mysticism and Talmud. He then receives a warning on the life tranquillity threat posed by the Nazis from his instructor known by the name Moshe the Beadle. By the time spring season approaches, the shipment of the Jewish trainloads was abruptly carried out, and it is vivid that Elie's family was among the last convoy. It is also evident that some of Elie's neighbors cannot commute at all; they are thereby forced to utilize the little water and food is available (Nesfield & Smith, 2019). It is thereby a tragic situation that the Jewish people are experiencing. In this book, there is also a hysteric vision of furnaces and flames witnessed by one of the deportees.

On the third day of deportation, the ferried group further witnessed in horror some flames which rose above the burning oven and, at the same time, flesh in the fire. At that particular time, Elie's sisters, including her mother, departed to Birkenau perceived to be a death camp. There are also dozens of infants tossed forcefully into a burning bit, Elie tries to repel his creator, but all ends in vain.

Day in day out, Elie and his father are struggling to maintain their normal body health so that they may execute their regular tasks in the workforce. Both the trustees and the guards are known for their capricious punishment. Some weeks later, Elie and his father are forcefully acted on, thus moving to an electronic company at Burna where they spend much of their time working in a warehouse. Elie, in a unique scenario, witnesses a child being hanged by the guards, and the thirteen-year-old child dies egregiously. It was one of the rare and inhumane situations ever witnessed by Elie. It clearly depicts how the regime acted on a specific segment of the population mercilessly.

After some time, Elie undergoes a special operation on his foot. At the same time, Elie's father passed the next selection after it was declared that the Jews should fast. During wintertime, they are issued some stripped and thicker pajamas to reinforce them against harsh conditions. All the prisoners were evacuated immediately to German depths since the Red Army was getting closer. They are forced to run for approximately fifty miles to the concentration camp.

The Red Army was on the verge of liberating Buna. Some of the prisoners did not survive the harsh conditions and, at the same time, exhaustion, so they died bit by bit. The Jewish prisoners, while at the concentration camp, were further ferried in cattle vehicles to Buchenwald camp, where only a tiny number of only twelve survived (Kalay, 2019). Elie and his father jointly assisted each other mutually to survive such a scenario. The physical abuse, however, in combination with dysentery, made Elie's father survive in such a camp, and he also passed away. Elie is finally sent to the children's block, and in the same year, the American army won the battle leading to the release of all the prisoners.
