The roles list for the PM magazine consists of the editor-in-chief, art editor, picture editor, copy editor, and production manager. Each role will need to be fulfilled for a successful edition of the PM magazine. The editor-in-chief will serve as the vision bearer for the publication (Smith, 2016). The person who holds this position will need to have many skills, including journalistic, leadership, and collaborative qualities. This role will include the coordination of the entire magazine projects. The editor-in-chief will ensure that all the aspects of the PM magazine succeed.
The art editor will be in charge of the creative aspects of the magazine. The holder of the position will handle all the design, photography, and illustrations that make up the magazine. These roles and responsibilities will involve the ultimate publication and creative aspects of the magazine. The picture editor will work closely with the art editor to ensure that the imagery is commissioned correctly and to ensure that the quality of the illustrations is high (Smith, 2016). Copy editors will handle the acquisition of text articles from the various authors and their reviews for quality. Proofreaders will help with the grammar and spellcheck to ensure proper content flow.
The production manager will play the critical role of coordinating the physical aggregation of all the written and illustrative material within the established deadline. The production manager will maintain the communication between the team of authors and art designers with the printing team so that all the material is available when needed (Whittaker, 2016). Working closely with the production manager will be the departmental editors. Each of these editors will be responsible for the collection and arrangement of text and picture resources relating to their departments.
This edition of the PM magazine will focus on the new normal post, the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the key areas that the editorial team will address will be how the new operational frameworks enable the realization of equality for diverse team projects. Another aspect of the new normal that will be addressed is how the accelerated adoption of remote work permits diversity of thought and actions in project management. Another area to be discussed will be how multi-generational team leadership is realized under new operational frameworks that do not prioritize in-person collaborations. The contributing authors, the editorial, and the illustrative aspects of the magazine will build an understanding of the transformations in project management realized during the global pandemic and how they shape the future of project management.
