Introduction
There are many nonprofit organizations in Tampa, FL, but I choose to compare between “The Community Foundation of Tampa” and “The Nonprofit Leadership Center, Tampa." The main objective of the two organizations is making Tampa a better place than it currently is (Hanson, 2020). Community Foundation of Tampa majors in pioneering projects that are innovative and providing resources that help organizations to grow and also thrive while nonprofit leadership center, Tampa focuses on helping in the growth of other nonprofit organizations by developing and connecting the leaders of the nonprofit organizations to strengthen the community organizations (Hanson, 2020). The nonprofit organizations are private entities that focus on supporting and bettering the community.
What Did I Learn about the Organization or Government Entity and Its Role within the Community?
The nonprofit organizations are businesses of public benefit, and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) exempt them the tax status because of the social cause they further in the community (Weinstein, 2005). The nonprofit organizations make money or profits, but whatever is made is not given back to the investors in the form of dividends or profits. Still, instead, they are used in the organization's growth and further its mission, which is empowering the community (Weinstein, 2005).
What Effect Does This Organization (Or Similar Ones W/ Similar Interests) Or Government Entity Have On The Citizens And The Community? What Policy Positions Would This Organization Promote?
The nonprofit organizations have a big impact on citizens and the whole community at large because they provide essential services that impact the economic mobility and stability by building healthy communities hence meeting the needs of the community (Weinstein, 2005). The leaders of these organizations act as the voice of the people helping to bring good change to the community. Nonprofit organizations in society play a significant role. Through the socially aware and the philanthropy of donors, the organizations pick up government finances in social protection and services to the citizens (Weinstein, 2005).
Based Upon Your Experience, How Do You Define The Role Of The Citizen Within A Community?
A citizen is a resident of a specific town or city. The role of a citizen is to defend and support the constitution of the city, town, or country they represent. A good citizen is a person who is nice to others in society and works towards making the community a better place for living.
Conclusion
All nonprofit organization has the same purpose, which is bettering the community as proved by the case of The Community Foundation of Tampa and The Nonprofit Leadership Center, Tampa. The organization helps in bettering the community by bringing essential services to them as all the profit made is directed to the later.
