Talk Ted- “ How Your Body Language Shapes Who we are”
Communication may involve either verbal or non-verbal mode. Body language is an example of non-verbal form of communication. According to Ted Talk, body language can affect the way that we see others and even ourselves. Moreover, sweeping judgments can also be as a result of body language, which can easily enhance likelihood of prediction of the possible life’s outcomes such as the people who we are likely to promote or else ask for a date. In addition, use of body language can also be used to analyze, judge and scrutinize our personal behavior and the public leaders who serve us.
Body language also shapes the person we are since the level of participation in the tasks that we do are affected. For instance, Cuddy pointed out that sitting position of the different genders affects the manner that they are actively involved in the class activities; men are more active and powerful than women. As a result, the general performance of the women is relatively poor more than that of the men, and therefore schools should investigate it.
Body language can subsequently affect the way we value and see others and change our perception on ourselves.
This is due to the fact that during class presentation, we are at position to understand each other according to the nature of the body language that we use and that our peers use.
One can fake power during the course of using the body language and at a later stage, the character of confidence can be grown.
(a) Scrutinizing ourselves.
(b) Having confidence in ourselves.
Power posing affects the functionality of our brains and also affect our chances of success, which mainly depends on the way that we stand and make that posture.
