An aspiration to extend my knowledge in fashion design and enthusiasm to solve the problematic issues in the market faced by this industry pushed me into applying for this program in the Rutgers Business of Fashion Program. I trust that my learning foundation has inspired in me the potentials and abilities needed to meet the accuracy of this demanding program. Along with me is a robust knowledge of basics in fashion design, exclusive but pertinent work familiarity, a wish to learn, a desire for collaboration and governance, and an enthusiasm for challenges.
Fashion is a way for me to express personality and live desires, which bring meaning to my life. I am applying for this program as I am confident that fashion will make me gain and grow self-confidence. My interest in fashion started during my early childhood, a positive influence gained from my parents. My parents owned a retail shop, which dealt mostly with fashion design. Having this strong background, I learned a lot, particularly during my adolescent age in high school, where I helped my parents in designing different models of clothes, thus improving my creative thinking. After completing my high school, this was a drawback from fashion as I had to concentrate on my college studies the more.
During college holidays, I worked with Alexander McQueen Fashion Design Company, which was an excellent opportunity for me to gain new professional skills. As a result, this prompted me towards the desire for fashion and design programs. During the three years of holidays working in this company, I learned most of the essential background in fashion, marketing, merchandising, and behavioral aspects.
Working experience has dramatically improved my career path, which gives me more hope for the future in this industry. I hope that studying fashion in the Rutgers Business of Fashion Program will improve my skills and abilities in fashion design. The institute is known for shaping a new breed of leaders in the fashion industry, which gives me more hope that I will be a great leader in the market. Also, as their mission is to integrate the various business school disciplines, I hope to have a great teamwork experience with them. The teamwork skill will help me in the future to be a confident individual, able to work effectively with others in annual charity work of fashion and entertainment events.
Despite the tremendous positive future hopes, there are some challenges that I expect I may face in the fashion industry in the future. The cost of producing raw materials is one of the challenges I expect to face in this field as it is increasing gradually at higher costs. Also, the availability of labor in another issue that I may undergo in the future is well known that some brands use slaves as a source of labor. Furthermore, transportation costs due to the update of logistics may be a challenge because of the high prices of petrol and oil. Client sentiment is also a likely challenge that I may encounter in the future as the millennials will soon be the largest demography in the future, known to have more preferences, tastes, and demands. Finally, respecting distinct races and cultures is a massive challenge to the fashion industry, which is likely that is will also face in the future due to the need for diversification.
Based on my work experience and skills in fashion I design, I will be a great tool to the society and world in general, offering the best I can. I hope that I succeed in all the necessities for admittance into your program and that the admittance board positively receives my request. Thank you for your considerations.
