Overview of the RFP Project
The RFP project for the group entails a multidimensional approach to the prevention of opioid crises. The group selected this project because the recent clinical and scholarly evidence ascertains the prevalence of the opioid epidemic across the globe. Additionally, there has been a practice conflict regarding pain management, societal considerations, and individual patient needs amid the rising risks of opioid use (Philips et al., 2017). The number of people succumbing to the opioid epidemic is increasing every year (Bolliger & Stevens, 2019; Fugelstad et al., 2019). Developed nations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia have already acknowledged the urgency of addressing this problem in society. However, there is a lack of multidimensional collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of the established intervention. In this case, prevention strategies in place have failed to meet the anticipated changes and community-targeted milestones. This RFP project will focus on the need to involve different stakeholders to enhance the prevention capacity at national and community levels. What started as a dependency syndrome has escalated to become an epidemic. For this reason, the establishment of diversified strategies and interventions founded on collaboration and engagement could lead to positive outcomes (Fischer et al., 2020).
Key Stakeholders
The funding requirements associated with this project call for the inclusion of institutions that could offer financial support. In line with financial needs, the Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub) will be one of the primary stakeholders. RHIhub has a special program tailored to fund opioid epidemic research especially those focusing on prevention of the crisis (RHIhub, 2020). The availability of adequate funding will enhance the implantation and success of this RFP project. The management of the local healthcare facilities that will be identified as the research centers for this program also forms part of the primary stakeholders of the RFP project. Access to patient-related and opioid epidemic data will depend on the collaboration between the administration of the identified healthcare facilities and group members. Pharmaceutical outlets are part of the stakeholders because they are directly involved in the distribution of the drugs. Therefore, for the comprehensive assessment of the epidemic, it is necessary to collaborate with this group of stakeholders, especially in terms of access to data.
Identifying Other Key Stakeholders
Individuals, groups, and institutions that will indirectly support the implementation of this project form part of the secondary stakeholders and they include the Western Michigan University and the Department of Health. The university is part of the additional stakeholders because it provides the necessary academic-based supervisory support for this project. Through the supervisory assistance from the experienced professors, the group is assured of continuous progress and professionalism during the entire project. The Department of Health is included in the project because it is important to obtain approval to undertake the project within its jurisdiction.
How to Estimate the Cost of Evaluation
Cost estimation will be based on the scope of the project. In this case, the group will focus on the major activities that will be incorporated into this project, which will be used to estimate the cumulative cost. In this RFP project, the key expenses include data collection and recruitment of participants. The project will involve follow-up sessions, which will also increase the cost of the project. The future information that the group will require to plan the expenses includes the timeline of the project and the available funds from the financiers.
