Technological advancements have influenced how Human Resource Officers handle their practices. It has provided for Human Resource Managers to use technological tools such as recruiting software, payroll service, and performance trackers to increase efficiency. This essay assesses the impact of technological advances on the Human Resource environment and what technological tools enable HR (Human Resource) managers to perform their duties more efficiently.
Technological Tools that foster efficient HR Management
Technology has transformed the HR environment into becoming more efficient, competent, and effective in meeting an organization's goals. It gets evidenced by changes in how human resource managers recruit employees. Before the existence of emails and the internet, job seekers relied on letters, phone calls, or face-to-face meetings to connect with employers (Kianto et al., 2017). Currently, most companies post job vacancies online, and job seekers are required to apply on a recruitment portal. It is timely, efficient, and cost-effective. Technological advancements have eased communication within a company. Emails or messaging applications allow human resource managers to communicate to all employees simultaneously (El-Kassar, & Singh, 2019). The development of data management software programs has facilitated an efficient analysis of employee performance. Using technology, human resource managers can gather and assess data to establish whether employees meet their goals and targets (Stone et al., 2015). Technological advancements have improved payroll preparation processes, which were previously strenuous and tiresome. Online payroll services automatically evaluate and track deductions, and paychecks, and ensure timely payments.
Conclusion
Technological advancements have transformed the HR environment into becoming more efficient, competent, and effective in achieving an organization’s goals. Technology has changed employee recruiting processes since using the internet job seekers can easily connect with job providers. Emails and other messaging applications have fostered effective communication within HR departments. Online performance appraisals, online payroll services, and performance appraisals have also helped human resource managers attain their goals efficiently and effectively.
