In most cases, those undertaking research fail to identify their differences hence ineffective application of the method, the method used, therefore, determines the type of research conducted. This paper explains the difference between qualitative and quantitative research concerning social injustice and recidivism.

Qualitative research is primarily based on a descriptive study where the focus, in this case, is to ensure that there are an understanding of human behavior and the main reasons, motivations, and opinions of the study (McCloud, Sam 2019). The method used in this research involves the collection of data through the observation of the participants and interviews. The collected data is analyzed based on the themes of the research. On the other hand, quantitative research is based on identifying facts concerning social life, and it is used to quantify a particular problem through numerical data or transformable data that can be subjected to statistical analysis. It uses measurable data that can be reported in for of statistics (McCloud, Sam 2019).
