Many job seekers are usually confused on how to start looking for a job, what to do during an interview, and what to do to ensure they get their dream job. The first article is chosen is "Ask a Real Recruiter: How Do I Prove That I'm the Best Candidate in an Interview?" which highlights the best way to respond to various questions asked by the interview especially when competing with individuals who present similar qualifications. I think this article dwells into an important matter in job search since many are the times when job seekers have the same qualifications and yet the position they want is just one.
One of the hardest things to do during a job search as the article denotes is to stand out among other candidates. According to the article, the only to stand out amidst the other equal candidate is by being able to present who you really are and the intangibles you possess. One way to ensure one's intangibles are properly displayed to get the attention of the interviewer is by expressing the determination and the grit that one possess. I think it is crucial to portray a sense of determination to the employers especially during an interview. Considering that there no business in the world that does not have its own set of challenges, it is important to prove to employers that even when time gets hard, one will maintain loyalty have the power to withstand those challenges. Enthusiasm is the second factor important for one to win against the other equally qualified candidate. Many employers are looking for the most passionate candidate if one can be able to prove their passion in a particular job I agree that they will have an upper hand to their competitor. However, I think it all comes to communication skills that one possess since they will determine if they can be able to present their desires accurately. I think this article provides good information for any job seeker.
The second article is titled "How to do a self-assessment of your skills" and focuses on the importance of finding the vital information about yourself and more so how to present them. According to the article, before even thinking about updating the CV, it is important to do a self-assessment of the various skills that one has since this will ensure that valuable content is presented during an interview. I agree with the article that self-assessment is important as it enables one to identify any gaps that might exist, scale the chances of being employed and identify the best opportunities that suit ones' career. A career self-assessment can be done by assessing the various skills that one have. Before going for a job, it is important to consider the various skills that might be needed for one to perform that job effectively. Knowing that one has these skills as the article highlights will help an individual to know if they are among the most suited for the job they are looking for.
Additionally, the article notes that by noting and writing down the various skills one have, one may be able to identify other hidden skill that will prove a difference during selection time. Self-assessment help one when doing a job search since they can be able to recognize and familiarize themselves with the skills put in a job advertisement. Another important factor during self-assessment is appreciating one's knowledge. According to the article, recognizing the special knowledge that one may have about their future work can make the employers interested in hiring you and to have this understanding about the workplace can be done if one conducts a self-assessment. Another factor that self-assessment helps to identify is whether one can add value to the place they are interested in. I agree that it is key to know if by being employed the organization will improve its delivery of services, solve complex problems, reduce costs, and more importantly generate income. Many employers are always looking for a candidate who can add value to them and self-assessment can help one to know if they really add value to the company, they are hoping to work in. I think this article presents good information relating to job search and more so how to prepare for an interview.
The third article is "How to get your job application shortlisted" which gives tips on how to ensure one is shortlisted when they apply for a job. In the competitive job market we live in, one can find themselves making tens of applications without any success especially when applying for our dream jobs. According to this article, one of the most important things to do to ensure selection is making sure you meet and match the job requirements. Though there is more than just meeting job requirements, I think it is important to first ensure that you at least have some qualifications close to what is demanded. However, if not all the requirements are met, one can prepare themselves on how to bridge the gaps and convince the employer that you are worth to be shortlisted. All in all, think all these job search articles present important information that can help one when they are preparing for a job hunt.
