In the evaluation of my progress in fulfilling the contracted grades guidelines. Over the past semester and up to date, I have been fully committed since I have completed all the assignments I was assigned, and that I have also not missed any class. My school attendance has been remarkable since I have not missed any class despite the challenges that I face. I have also participated fully in community agreements where we come together and set up promises on eradicating some issues such as systemic racism and any forms of racial violence.
As a student of movement, I have learned that sitting for hours while studying is not an effective skill for learning. I usually move around while taking crucial breaks. It is because it benefits me as a student in that it aids in the relaxation of my body and mind. The exercises and breaks help in motivating me and also aid in improving my mental health. My lectures provide me with full support when it comes to schoolwork. The school assignments also sustain me by providing me with comprehensive guidance in the course that I am pursuing. When I am conducting personal studies, I also assess myself with the help of questions to help me understand every concept. The most challenging part is that I am given less time with multiple works to grasp every content.
My goal for the remainder of the semester is to identify ways in which I will be able to grasp and understand general theatre knowledge and the required skills. My goals also entail having a full understanding of both theatre theories and production practices. One of my goals is to develop a more complex understanding of arts, which are used in the theatre studies course, I am pursuing. My goal is also to determine ways in which I may be able to apply and test the knowledge I have acquired in the field of theatre production and the management and design of theatre production. The thing that might help me achieve my goals is to be fully committed to my classwork. I also have to conduct several follow-ups with my lectures in order to be able to strengthen my weaknesses fully. I also have to conduct several research and studies to help me acquire more knowledge in theatre studies.
The aspects of class that serve me well are both materially, structurally, and pedagogically. These structures have aided me in acquiring and exhibiting skills, which include acting, designing, and playwriting. My tutor's and lecturers' skills have helped me develop creativity and problem-solving techniques that are essential in the theatre class. For example, the hanging lights and props may have some difficulty, and therefore I will have to use the skills that I have acquired to manage this issue. Also, all three aspects have helped me develop time budgeting skills and improve my oral and communication skills; thus, I can able to act onstage and comfortably speak to any form of large audience. I have also gained some insights regarding class work and theories used in the theatre acting field.
The shifts that I have noticed in modern dance are that the modern dance has aided in creating emotions when individuals are dancing. It entails various dancing techniques that take time for an individual to acquire and learn. One example is the curl-up and down dancing style, generally used in jazz music. It requires the dancer to bend their knees and curl them as they continue to dance. One also came to understand a modern dance technique known as the leg swings, which requires a dancer to stand parallel while placing their arms in a more forward position while sliding their right kegs forward while brushing through the first position undertook while moving backward again.
The experiences I learned in making and performing in the midterm project include the following; I improved my communication skills. Through the midterm project, the crew that I worked with taught me how to develop more transparent and precise oral communication. I also learned how to avoid tardiness in the theatre. It is because this act is not acceptable in the theatre and that it shows some lack of discipline. I also developed skills in how to keep time and respecting deadlines that were initiated by the crews. One also gained adaptability and flexibility skills, since it required an individual to adapt to the ever-changing environment in the midterm project.
I want to share my experiences, which is crucial when it comes to acting. At first, an individual needs to understand their personality, and through it, one will be able to stick to the character and grasp everything they need to do to make the play a success. Also, an individual needs to acquire core memories which are essential in the play. One needs to link the play and act to their life experiences to make it more believable. An individual needs also to employ and create different types of catalogs of emotions when conducting a play; this is because, with emotions, one will avoid any mistakes.
