*A. Evaluate the Article Content

Using the general evaluation criteria described in Week 3, explain in the boxes below how the article you selected meets each of the criteria (authority, reliability, coverage, and currency). Describe each aspect of your selected article in detail.

Authority

The authors of the article work in the health related facilities in Malaysia such as Institute for Medical Research, Jalan Pahang, and Institute for Public Health, Jalan Bangsar, and Ministry of Health. This allows them to have authority over the topic since they have information about the obesity.

Reliability

The study achieved reliability since it considered the weight and height of 5544 children as well as growth reference from World Health Organization. The number of participants used was signifant enough to achieve reliable information.

Coverage

The study had wide coverage considering that it included areas of outlets for fast food, engaged children with different conditions in terms of weight and height, and included recorded information on various aspects of obesity.

Currency

The study is a current one having been carried out in November 2018 and published in February 2019.

The article selected is best considering that it addresses the specifics aspects of the study such as the consumption of fast-food and how this consumption affects children. The article as well extends to examining other factors which contribute to weight rather than just fast food such as age, sex, and income among others. The article makes specific point that high consumption of fast food contributes to overweight and this is affected by proximity to access the fast food outlets.
